What is Haldol? Usage and its Risks

This is Dr. Liz and I'm here today to talk to you about Haldol. So what is Haldol? That is the old antipsychotic that everyone thinks of when they think of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. And it does have some risks and problems. Let's discuss its usage and its risks:
1. It stays in the body for a long time, and it can make people look like zombies.
2. It has a 2% increase in stroke risk, and a
3. 1% increase in Sudden Death risk, and really shouldn't be used for long-term use.
However, if people are delirious, if they're really aggressive, and paranoid, or what we call psychotic, it may be helpful on an emergent basis.
It can be given by injection or by tablet, or by just liquid.
You have to be careful though, you have to watch your loved one.
Rarely, it can make elders with dementia, more restless when they take it. So if they've been given the Haldol for the paranoia, but then they become restless and they're moving nonstop - that's not the dementia getting worse: That's from the Haldol.

Did you take this drug (poison)? Because I also did and it was very much like hell, I wanted to die and I’m still dealing with suicidal thoughts because of it when I never had suicidal thoughts to begin with. I am trying to see how I can sue for the sake of just doing research on the effects of the drug in order to reverse possible permanent damage that it gave me. I mean it even says online I think on WebMD that it can give permanent tardiness dyskinesia.

One thing I dont think I will ever get used to working in psych is having to hold someone to receive a PRN with haldol. They are so terrified of that specific needle & I can only imagine why.

I am trying to see how I can sue for the sake of just doing research on the effects of the drug in order to reverse possible permanent damage that it gave me. I want to create a group of people who have been given this drug or even other antipsychotics that want to fight against the usage of these drugs or even against the psychiatric medical system to begin with that I think is very corrupt and dangerous.

Does it help with high Anxiety?? And Resistant Depression, 2 or 4 mg per day

Hi doctor, can de haldol been combined with abilify. Without causing permanent damage to the person?.

Hi Dr… I took my 17 yr old daughter to the ER. She was severely depressed and agitated. They gave her a few doses of haldol. She calmed down and was eventually discharged. The next day she went into a catatonic state. Staring at the ceiling / walls. And periodically agitated. Is this a possible side effect ?

Hi doctor im using haldol for 9 months now and my symptoms not gone yet but haldol havent given me any side effects can i increase haldol im on 10 mg or should i swirch to different meds
