China never gave up Hanfu clothing for anyone who doesn't know their history. When the Manchus took over China? They forced the Chinese to give up their real traditional historical clothing dress called the Hanfu 汉服. The so called Qipao was never a Chinese dress in the first place and it will never be one. The Qipao is Manchurian not Chinese clothing, again the real clothing of China was the Hanfu 汉服. Also a lot of people are forgetting? China was in a really really hot mess in the mid and late years of the 1800s and early/mid 1900s and by extent even the late 1900s. So China was not able to focus on the small problems when they needed to focus on the bigger issues. This is exactly why now China and the Chinese people are bring back the Hanfu 汉服 clothing.

I don't see anything wrong with this. Why can't China and the Chinese people bring back their real clothing? Originally their real historical clothing was banned by a foreign power who aren't even the real Chinese rulers and people who ruled China at that time for like 200 years or so. Even in the clip scene at 2:09 the Communist party didn't allow clothing expression at the time. So kind of hard for Chinese people to wear their true and real clothing at that time. Even the other Chinese nations also wear China's historical clothing called the Hanfu even if their aren't Han. The traditional Chinese Hanfu has a lengthy history of nearly 4000 years dating back to the Shang Dynasty which began in 1700 BCE. Also? Thanks to the Hanfu it gave a huge impact and it had a big influence on both Korea's Hanbok clothing and Japan's Kimono clothing.Also another factor to consider is which clothes is more convenient? I love the Hanfu and wearing Hanfu but depending on the Hanfu it is hard to take off if you really need to use the bathroom badly. That was another reason why most people still kept wearing the Qipao because it is more modern convenient with everyday things and task and other etc. No one stopped the Hindus or Indians from bring back their stuffs from British rule. No one stopped the Vietnamese from bring back their stuffs from French rule. No one stopped the Koreans from bring back their stuffs from Japanese colonial rule. And no one stopped the Russians from bringing back their stuffs when Communism and the Soviet Union died out. Also at one time the European continent was once called the Dark Ages. The European continent lost a lot of stuffs too, even Italy where the birthplace of the Roman Empire was. They no longer wear what Ancient Roman clothing besides for historical or making movie reasons only not for day to day basis.

Hanfu is not HanbokBased on the quotes from Korean Kings and authoritative historical documents. Korea Hanbok is the one that was influenced by China Hanfu, not the other way around. Claiming Hanfu's characteristics and styles belong to Hanbok only shows your ignorance. Hanbok shares similarities with Hanfu because ancient Korea adopted Chinese costumes and headgears. You can use them, but you don't have the right to distort history or claim these Hanfu features as Korean origin. 1:30 Correction! It was not in 2003 since the first Republic of China tried to bring back Hanfu back into China's society. If your not familiar with a guy named Yuan Shikai 袁世凯? He was the first person to try to bring back China's true culture and other forgotten things because of Manchu rule and ban on Hanfu clothing. Not only Yuan Shikai was a real Chinese person who was also educated in China's original culture and way of life including China's original clothing and dress. So technically it wasn't in 2003 and not Wang Letian, he was not the first person to try to revive Hanfu clothing. Yuan Shikai 袁世凯 was going to be China's first revival Emperor of China and as well revival of Hanfu clothing China's original historical dress, clothing and attire.

Could it be a mix of both people like hanfu and people find it beautiful? Also i think the other Ethernet groups should be able to have there clothes and celebrate there cultures too.

it looks so beautiful on you! just one question. would it be bad if a foreigner who was non-asian roots wears it? without mocking or something like that. I want to dress one if I go to China some time, but I'm worried about that. I find Chinese history wonderful and I'm studying it, so it wouldn't be dressing without information. Just found your channel and subscribed. So elegant and beautiful! I saw many young people wearing Hanfu in Chinese cities like Hangzhou where you can easily feel the ancient vibes. I wish there is such Hanfu lovers party at my place too. But anyways I will definitely buy a set of Hanfu when I visit China next time.
