i honestly think that kukori has no way of recovering unless they somehow sell the company, with no ability to hire new staff the issues are gonna get worse untill they just decide to shut down, dupe issue seems like it wont change and with its existence game is boring, like i started from nothing recently and in 10 hours of playtime spread across 3 days i got all items i ever wanted to have+ full mining set, this game allways lacked features to hold in rich players but now it also struggles to bring in new ones, personally i think its just time to accept that its dead and move on because its not going anywhere

on one hand i do want to keep all the memories and creation and all works in this game, but doing so, will make the game unsalvageable as ever. doing a server wipe though, will make it a brand new game. but, a lot of people will be mad, sad, betrayed even. and it's even more heartbreaking because there's nothing they can do and it's not even their fault. the devs just missed the chance to rollback the duping catastrophe. what would I like though? personally, i like and hate both. if i were one of the devs, i'd just suggest making a new game and starting over. kind of like how Curse Of Aros getting almost no update ever since mage update, and one of the devs moved to Heartwood Online.

0:05 That's not a DDOS attack but much rather a server outage. There isn't a concrete proof those are due to DDOS. If it was actually a ddos attack, i do think the hackers would've done this like wayyy earlier and for wayyy longer. 2:11 The servers were back again online because the issues seemed to have been fixed (which wasn't afterall) 5:04 Like loka said there is no need to speculate, and that also goes for the said "ddos attack" which again, there isn't concrete proof. It's not because someone said there was one that it's actually real. Fake rumors are easy to spread nowdays. Also about the "corrupted database" it could be due to a server reboot after yesterday incident, it's not for sure but possible, it could explain why pwe prices were all erased, byte coin store gone etc... but since i do not know what happened in the server side, i wouldn't say this is what happened for sure.

data corruption only happens at a database level. Which means that when it comes to the currency nothing else besides the amount people have in their inventory should be affected, the ui is not part of that, nor the images and so on. DD0S don't really corrupt data but indeed overload the server with packets causing it to either become unreachable or even shut down, but still, shutting down is not enough to corrupt files. The only factors of the data getting corrupted, would be either an internal error (such as a bug in the game, maybe from the new updates), or an exploit that a person used (which may have caused data corruption, but that's also unlikely, since pixel worlds wasn't made in a way to be plagued with bugs and to leave that much room for exploits) The DD0S is pretty straightforward and can actually be a cause, but the data corruption caused by it is unlikely.

also the history being blank, might have been the data corruption, or to be more specific, an aftermath of the corruption. Corruption doesn't mean that the files become empty or anything, and instead they become unreadable by the actual system (such as the one that reads the file or the place where the history is stored and then displays the statistics when looking at that specific item). Corrupted files that don't have an exception system (something that handles them in a way or another) usually don't make that part work at all or maybe even crash the server or the client that triggers that specific action (making the server display the history of an item). What the devs might have done for that portion to actually not display anything and be empty is deleting the whole file or thing that stores the history.

Update: i have recently looked at some of the previous videos and seen that people also managed to come with all kinds of exploits like the duplication one or changing the actual name of the items. Those people might have also done some other stuff that could have caused the corruption of some data and instability of the server. My speculation is that these people might have also found en exploit regarding shutting down the server using the exploit. For more context, i have been quite interested into GTPS (Growtopia priate servers) and a main concern with some of these servers are vulnerable to an in game exploit that causes the server to crash. Let me explain, the growtopia community has already had problems with modded clients, heck, a rollback was even caused by a person that duplicated items in the real servers using a mod menu that executes code that you write in lua. With that same mod menu, some people found out exploits for gtps sources, and what the exploit does is basically spamming a game packet a lot of times in only a few seconds, causing the server to completely crash (not the pc, the server) Those people that use the exploit can do the similar amount of damage a DD0S attack can do to any server in just mere seconds without any heavy backup as hardware (such as multiple devices targeting the same server lika a DD0S does). I am not saying that this is what they did, but from my point of view, it seems really similar with a problem that i have seen before

Also, i have recently rewatched you 2nd latest video and found out something else. when it comes to most of the game servers, maintenance is a state where the server is still reachable, but not to normal players (the staff team can still enter the server during maintenance mod), this statement might not apply to all the games there are, but i am preety sure that also happends to pixel worlds. Even if it didn't apply, a thing is still certain, this message is server sided, which means that in order for this message to still be triggered and not allow players to connect, the server needs to make the client display it when you try to connect, which of course, that means that the server is indeed up, but you intentionally can't connect to it. When the nessage is "can't connect to the server" or "server is unreachable" or something similar, that's a feature of the client, and you get that message when your client can't connect to their sever. So basically, 1 means the server is online, but you can't connect on purpose, and the other one means that you can't connect to the server because it can't be reached. With that out of the way, this can mean 3 things: First possibility: The people that did the previous exploits might have found something similar to also crash the actual server (my previous speculation) 2nd possibility: Some strong DD0S might be happening, which, by overloading the port that they use for letting us connect and interact with their server, which preety much makes it unreachable 3rd possibility: The owners of the game decided to close the servers completely until they sove the other critical issues

Sorry for the long reply just explaining tiny bit in depth They heavily utilize the logging system (event logging like when a butterfly spawns or anything) in both their server and their client using Unity DEVTODEV logging. The only reason I know this is because WITHOUT VIOLATING their TOS you can view these event logs, but think of it as seeing any visual action in the game but in text form. (with additions of course) Due to the architecture of pixel worlds and the game engine it utilizes, it can behave like a game with mod support, kinda. What I mean is that there are thousands of unity games such as Subnautica in which modding is promoted in, and Pixel worlds even though being another type of game, can still be modded very similarly (if i wanted to say add my own custom gui or smth)

See, when the server was Ddos attacked by hackers the history of all items was erased. So the same probably applies to unbanned players, the ban history was erased therefore the logs can be reversed and used to re-ban those accounts. I wouldn't expect those accounts to last long.

But anyway, wishing all the best to the pw team but honestlii, hate that some of us youtubers warned them years ago that it's not gonna look good in a few years and now it's here, breaking down left n right, moderation? content? bugs? hackers? scammers? serious game breaking issues? yeah, reported so much that it's to the point you're not sure if they've listened to anything said, done and or shown to them by well known members. Recentlii i was even banned from the discord for "advertising hackers" because i simplii spoke about what hackers allegedlii are capable of with FarmMiner [who wasn't banned btw] because a new wave of duplications happened, and after my unban, they cleared all my messages with the notive that i'm working with hackers, not sure if i even mentioned a hackers name or tool, but now Dew and Airbronze are prominent figures and there's stigma to some which is also unfair and lacking of communication on moderators and developers/administrators to push away the people who genuinelii cared for the game. Pushing away from that topic, what mic do you use? your voice sounds amazing, or, how do you remove the low grovle [if your mic has anii] i'm genuinelii intrigued by the smooth sound in comparisson to mine, which is a FiFine Condensor mic from 2020 or something.

I have many projects going, including one that can hopefully revive some love in the pixel MMO genre. 👀😏 Sad to hear about what happened on Discord, it's kind of a mess at the moment. Fully understand your decision to move away from just PW - and wish you the best of luck on future endevours :) I have a Blue Yeti and it was only recently I started taking full advantage of it by applying some settings in Audacity (the program I use to record my voice), like noisegating and compressing. It made a big difference if you compare this video to a few videos back.

when the “server corruption” took place, it’s probably due to the server entering maintenance mode and experiencing C# console errors and unequal timeouts OR a manual server shutdown took place due to risk from normal operations that occur during normal server shutdown. (everything shut down too slow and too different of a time frame than other server operations). By the way there’s more I could legally do without violating TOS to test availability of their servers.
