Happiness is all in the mind. You can't escape your true nature.

Happiness is the by product of our ability to overcome obstacles. The more difficult the obstacles, the more joy it accompanies when you overcome it. The everlasting cycle of self overcoming is the true happiness. It’s very different from pleasure. People who seek pleasure are guaranteed to achieve nothing but depression at the end. The lack of ability and effort to overcome one self is the root of anxiety.

😅first 30yrs was so painful tried to kill myself. 2nd life was first time I was happy but I had NOTHING to compare it too and felt I was going crazy or manic until I realized THIS is happy. Loving Life and wanting more of it! 🎉

IMO: Defining happiness is more difficult than obtaining it. Happiness is the meaning of life. (And, no, I don't think it requires religion or spirituality, pleasure-seeking, and certainly not substances). Happiness is the ultimate sense of purpose. It can involve gratitude, peace of mind--but excitement doean't sacrifice it, empathy, and many things. There are many things that adversely affect happiness--like comparisons to others, hate, and so much more.

Since you do not believe it requires spirituality or some sort of moral compass to which religion is a portion of that you will only receive moments and never happiness. It will be determined by one’s environment.

@@Witcherworks Religion and/or spirituality is not required to have a moral compass as far as I've seen. In my observations, moral compass when present is often stronger in those without any particular religion or spirituality. When moral compass is not present religion, spirituality, laws, etc can create other motivation to act as if they have a moral compass.. but this only works as far as whether they think they can get away with when nobody is looking. For me, moral compass is connected to my happiness, but I have seen those without a moral compass who can be quite happy. My bias thinks that type of happy is not true happiness, but it's hard to say what others feel, especially when their sense of perception may be different due to pychological or developmental differences.

We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about. Charles Kingsley (1819 - 1875) Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory. Albert Schweitzer (1875 - 1965)

happiness is all psychological. also happiness is decreasing. in order to survive in the wild, there has to be a strong desire to live including a strong sense of happiness. without a strong desire, you simply cannot survive. i mean peter, a deer cant easily and safely drink from a lake when there are crocodiles and alligators inside. the ones that had less desire to survive are the ones that didnt get naturaly selected. humans are becoming weaker due to this including their happiness.

You both need Jesus. Then you'll be happy because of the promise of an everlasting future of happiness.

@@ShastaTodd Todd, why are you so upset over my comment? I enjoy Peter's work. I have read some of his book, viewed a lot of his videos, but have yet to read the part about why he has been so unhappy in his life at one point. Suggesting he should seek a relationship with Jesus is not a crime. Have a great day.
