C P if you guys live in Harrisonburg like me I think you should go to this place near funkys besides you go the opposite way and you’ll see a place called Hokkaido and its a sushi buffet little less pricey than a restaurant and if your a parent that has a kid that don’t like seafood they have different stuff like zucchini with stake and rice corn dog nuggets and more but I like sushi if you see this you should try it out

Because it resembles the meat from a crab leg. That said, I still like it in small doses but really wonder which is healthier, a fast food burger or imitation crab. I usually use it added to a salad so I'm guessing it's reasonably healthy eaten this way.

eddie Imitation crab is definitely healthier. It’s pretty much just lean fish protein maybe some carbs depending if the brand you bought has added sugars or starch to the fish paste. Fast food burgers have a lot more stuff that you should somewhat limit in you diet like saturated fats and simple carbohydrates from the buns. Of course like most things they’re fine in moderation.

It isn't bad in a salad and take it from a crab fisherman, it's a bunch easier to use then the real thing. I made real crab stuffed mushrooms for Xmas. I took the meat out of three crabs. What a pain in the ass. I finally got good at it but for things like salads or hors-d'oeuvres I will simply buy canned crab meat.

Carmine (also called Cochineal extract) is made from the dried bodies of female Dactylopius coccus costa, a small beetle commercially grown in Peru, Costa Rica and the Canary Islands. Imitation crab has some crab in it. Snow crab to be exact. They say it's less than 2% but still has crab for those who didn't want to eat crab.

Imitation crab sliced into 1 inch cubes & seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, and simmered in light butter for a few minutes, is great with Spanish rice.

Anytime I go to the Picadilly Restaurant, I have the 'seafood salad'. It has a little minced onion, celery, mayo and lemon juice, served on a bed of lettuce. It's delicious. Occasionally I make it at home. I guess if we could see how a lot of items we eat are prepared and packaged, like hot dogs, it would turn our stomachs. I try not to think about it and just eat it!😁
