Hey, thanks for asking. I wore this thing throughout my whole bike messenger "career" 😁 I still have it but I have stopped working the streets so to speak. I probably should have gifted it to a promising messenger from the next generation 😊

This video reminded me why I stopped using a hip pouch: its only use is to keep useless crap with you. Seriously: tags are useless since everything is done electronically nowadays, a lighter is useless 99% of the time, change is useless if you have a debit/credit card or battery on your phone, tripod: useless since you never use it, business cards: useless (just take a picture of it, you'll save paper and time), rubber bands are basically trash, maintenance kit (multitool, spare inner tube, chain link, etc.) are WAY more convenient in a small saddle (why would you want to feel their weight when you can just transfer it to the bike itself, especially if you don't use it more than one time a month?), a map... no comment on that haha. Having an empty pouch at your disposal only asks for you to fill it with useless stuff and weight. When you know that on a bike, weight and aero are the two key factors for endurance, it makes sense to get rid of as much crap as possible. :)

You are of course largely right! But I have used it regularly to carry the actual fare in case of small items like glasses, keys, tiny envelopes and whatnot. Noone wants to take off the whole backpack for a small item. Butyah, I do see your point 😅
