I consider myself a rather technical person but iso has been something I have mostly avoided adjusting on my camera and always just left it at auto. This was a very informative video and in just over 4 minutes I totally get how it works and will start using it more often.

Omg you do not know the amount of youtube videos I watched just to understand the concept of ISO now when I watched your video it's a hole lot of understanding and basic, thanks!

thanks for the upload. beginner here and I've just started off with a DSLR (as a hobby) and I've been trying to absorb as much knowledge. the numbers and technical terms are quite intimidating to me, but videos like the one you've uploaded give me the confidence that I need.

You should check out Adobe Lightroom (Creative Cloud) It`s a really neat image editing software that will let you compensate to quite a high level of degree for beginner faults while out shooting. The monthly $10 subscription (12 months) will let you have a go at the most recent software features and this is because they are discontinuing the stand alone CD software. They offer a free 7 day trial so check it out ;-) And as for filters, you really need a polarizer filter when shooting pictures on sunny days (removes glare and increases contrast) and the glare bit is something you simply can not edit away in any photoshop software. Just figure out your correct camera lens mm.

Your videos are most informative of all I have seen so far.. very clear and to the point. Can you please make a video on how to compensate shutter speed and aperture for ISO changes to get the same exposure?
@iamneallyons42636 жыл бұрын
this, i would assume if you have to double your ISO from say 100 to 200, your aperture would have to decrease a stop and your shutter speed would have to increase a stop.

agreed!

It really depends upon your objectives. I do abstract B&W street photography, in which I'm shooting into deep shadow on a sunny day and one of my objectives is to arrest motion completely. Thus, I have my camera set to 800 ISO continually, in Program Auto, in order to force the camera to use the fastest shutter speed for the light in the scene. This yields the kinds of images I'm noted for, which you can see in a few videos I've posted to my channel.

Nice Explanation, but ISO in a DSLR does not refer to sensitivity of the sensor. It is the amount of gain applied after.

haii i have sonyxz here i cant change aperture it is f.2, so what should be the shutter speed i change for getting pics without blur
@SudipKhadka7 жыл бұрын
Sound like you need High shutter speed, higher shutter speed freezes the moment so more chance of getting sharp pictures, but make sure to use tripod if shutter speed is lower then 40 as our hand is not steady enough to get sharp pictures and subject should be still too.

You might also want to raise your iso even when it's bright outside, to get more depth of field or shorter shutter speeds. Don't stick to iso 100 all the time, even outside !
