there's a video by XxCelestexX (i think that's her youtube name) explaining the whole story line. The really really simple explanation is that each member goes through their individual struggles that nobody is aware of. The shots of them together show that they help uplift each other. Their characters are there actual names but nothing based on their actual lives.

I'm new to BTS so I am learning right along with you lovely ladies! I don't know if anyone already said this, but the one who stabbed the guy was V. In the story line V's dad is a alcoholic and is abusive to V and his sister. When V walked in and saw his sister being beaten he grabbed a bottle and broke it over his dad's head, then he stabbed him. You could check out some funny videos after to help ease the pain. You guys are literally all Armys when this first came out! I joined in 2015, during Run era, but we were still all confused af, lmao. It makes tons more sense now if you read the webcomic "Save Me" on Webtoons, but essentially, Armys made a million theories about the HYYH storyline (now known as the Bangtan Universe, or BU). Basically, the boys have a good time and forget their worries when together, but then there are all these separate storylines where they're dealing with problems alone. Next is Prologue, where you'll get more clues, but still be confused af. FUN! I'm excited you guys are doing this and I'm gonna watch along^^

In South Korea there is a ratings system for music videos so they use lollipops because if they use cigarettes then the rating of the mv goes up, plus they don’t want to promote smoking even though it’s just acting. That’s why there is 2 versions of this mv, one says 19 and the other one doesn’t and it’s missing scenes

Its only starting this is a storyline that spanned from 2015-2019. Thsi was the starting of the storyline. YOU ARE GONNA BE SOOOO CONFUSED IN THE COMING VDOS LOL😆 Notice how the boys are happy when they are together, but individually they are all going through struggles of their own. The storyline concerns with youth and its struggles. It pans through poverty, domestic abuse, suicide, mental health, abandonement. You have to watch aaaalll the vdos and then watch the explanation by xceleste. They have also released “notes” with every album which are diary notes by the fictional members stories, and also a webtoon called “save me” and books abt the whole storyline. The storyline is also soon to be a series AND a game. The characters are their own names, and they have connected the reality and fiction soooooOo much it feels like its actually happening its fvkin scary😭

I know that you guys want to get into the storyline, but it might be beneficial (for your poor hearts) to react to some of their other big songs. Some of the vids tie in directly (Fake Love and Blood, Sweat and Tears), while others are fairly separate from the storyline (DNA and Boy With Love). Just so you can get a feel for their music/lyrics, before diving headfirst into the mindf**k that can be the storyline (especially when you're both so new to the fandom). Giiirls, it's gonna be a looong journey and before things begin to make sense you need to watch a lot of mv and you'll need to start recognizing them to understand what is going on. The characters have the same name as the memebers. Jhope/Hoseok: is the one who was taking the pills and collapsed on the bridge. Jimin: is the one who was trying to drown himself in the bathtub. Jin: is the one with six petals Rm/Namjoon: the one who works at the gas station. Suga/Yoongi: the one who sets fire to his bedroom and is always showed with a lighter in his hand. Jungkook: is the one who got beaten V/Taehyung: is the one who stabbed his father. The whole storyline is part of the Bangtan Universe (BU) which is a dimension where 7 friends try to face their problems by finding support in each other but things, as you saw in I NEED U, are not going to be easy. I also think you need to know that they realized a webcomic about the storyline called "Save me" which you can read for free on Webtoon but before reading it it might be more appropriate and useful to watch all the mv. Finally there are the Notes that are a big part of the storyline because you can truly understand their point of view. The notes are some kind of diary where you can find pages written by each of the characters. Usally the notes come with the albums but they are entirely written in Korean so you can easily find translation online. So yeah, I'm done, I hope you'll enjoy this journey as much as I did and sorry for my english if I spelled something wrong or if I did some grammar mistakes, I'm from Italy🇮🇹.

BTS lyrics are great and masterfully put together 😂 but they usually have nothing to do with the plot of the storyline (at least for the first couple MVs- basically until we reach the WINGS solos) The lyrics connect more to the concept of each of their album series (i.e. The Skool Trilogy, HYYH, WINGS/YNWA, Love Yourself, Map of the Soul)

The thing is the music videos don't come in a proper timeline. We're given bits and pieces . They also add notes in their albums that give hints to what is going on,plus there is an ongoing webtoon. Their new album is coming soon so probably more to the storyline so you guys better catch up 😂 I think that you guys can keep reading the webtoon ,it's called Save Me and you can find it on the app Webtoon in playstore. *Some tips to guide you as you react to videos (don't worry there are no spoilers)* As you continue in the BU storyline be sure to pay very close attention to details in the mvs and short films (by that I mean everything your gonna watch), the more you do that the more things start to make sense and connect. ALSO for some of the videos like Prologue which is next please pleaseee look up "prologue eng subs" because the original video doesn't have subs. I cannot stress that enough. Try to remember what you watched in previous videos when you move on to the next one so that you can start making connections easier, I know it may be hard sometimes because you can't remember everything depending on how much time has passed since you watched the previous videos but try your best. First off, great reaction. When I discovered that BTS had a storyline going through their MVs, I thought it be just a regular story, nothing quite special. BUT BOIIIII WAS A WRONG. After watching this MV, I legit cried for 5 hours in front of my bathroom mirror, questioning my existence, and thinking what did I just get myself into. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions so be prepared, I sure wasn't. When you started reacting to Jungkook getting beaten up and V stabbing the person, my tears just started flowing out of nowhere. It gets me everytime. Well anyway, love you guys. I'm a lil late but to clarify the "are they dead???" question: *Dead Members* Jungkook: hit by a car. He was also letting himself get beat up just because he wanted to feel something. Jimin: Drowned himself over sorrow. J-hope: Overdose. RM: the cigarette he dropped on the groud exploded the gas station (this was eluded to, mostly) Suga: He was a pyromaniac. He burned his house down with him and his mom inside it. *Alive Members* Taehyung (V): His dad abused him and his mom his entire life so he finally snapped. He's now on the run for murdering his father. Jin: Jin is technically a pivotal character (he's not really dead or alive); he's like the overseer; his mission is to alter the timeline and make sure everyone stays alive. This was his first atempt and he failed. Sorry if I got something wrong, feel free to correct me! I'm not really into BTS anymore but the I Need U era was my favorite. I stopped following them after blood sweat and tears. (They just kinda moved away from the music style I like, no hate to BTS)

I’m going to write about each characters story’s so u could maybe understand a little more First things first is every member is paired with each other: Rm and v Jungkook and suga Jimin and jhope Jin isn’t paired with anyone Here are their stories RM: he grew up in poverty. He works hard at a gas station to make ends meet. His best friend is v. They do bad things together but they find comfort in each other so to them it’s worth it. V: his mother passed away when he was young so him and his sister got raised by there abusive father. Finally one day v had enough and violently killed his father after walking in seeing him physically abusing his little sister. He also finds comfort in RM. JUNGKOOK: he is alone. He doesn’t know who he is and depends on his friends to feel a certain way. He is paired with suga who he loves and wants to stay close to always. SUGA: he is always associated with fire. His mother died in a house fire that burned down there home, all that was left was a piano. He is close to jungkook because they find comfort in each other. J-HOPE: he is paired with jimin. His mother took him to a carnival ( when he was young) and told him to close his eyes and count to 10, she placed something in his hand and one he counted he opened his eyes and she was gone, she left him with a snickers bar to remember her. Ever since he did everything he could for attention. He got diagnosed with munchansen syndrome (which means he pretends to be sick to get medication he doesn’t need) this caused him to get put into a mental asylum which is how he meets jimin. JIMIN: Jimin was sexually abused in a forest when he was young which scared him for life. Everytime he thinks about it he has seizures and spasms and it causes him to lie about things which is the cause he is in the mental asylum where he meets jhope. JIN: Jin isn’t paired with anyone. He is a time traveler. He is always taking pictures to remember happy and fun times with his best friends. He keeps going back in time to try and fix it very thing for his friends but finds that he just brings more sadness and disparity in there life’s, yet he doesn’t give up and keeps trying to get him and his friends back together again so they can be happy. That’s some basic things and I added other things that won’t make sense for this video but it will for others that you watch (they have short films and solo songs that go with there characters). wow. okay, your reaction is amazing. i mean, you felt it all. please give us more. this was hilarious and also touching and it also made me feel like getting into bts for the first time again. thank you. ✨ okay, also: don't watch any explanations yet. it will only confuse you more. there's so, so much you haven't seen yet, and i'm not just talking about the mvs. there's tons of other stuff, like the notes that accompany the storyline, the webtoons, and even certain live performances that add or reflect elements of the story. don't worry about understanding it all - it's about feeling the story. so far, you're doing amazing. i don't wanna say too much but I'll ask for one thing: please react to funny videos (compilations like the "jungkook off his rocker"/"namjoon being done with bts' english" (i have a feeling this will be hilarious for the two of you) or the "Bts habits" series and stuff), but also do the mvs in order so that there'll be a good mix cause i don't want you to suffer so much lol)
