Pineapple is not a tree, it's a plant. In India, Kerala produce maximum. The place named Vazhakkulam is famous for the mass cultivation and production of pineapple. It's of two varieties, one that you shown in the videos is thorny ( katta), it's fruit is very sweet. The second variety's leaves don't have thorns and produce bigger fruit but with lesser sweet.

They mainly plant pineapples where there is high voltage power lines overhead. But there are people who plant when rubber trees are cut after it becomes old and next planting is getting ready. Also rubber is now a days not profitable 😂
