As a kid, I always thought calculating the equivalent super forms could be done in Smash Bros, since Sonic's Final Smash made him go super. By that logic, his super form would be an entire garden's worth of Fire Flowers.

​@@3DoublePointFr, Tanooki Mario is beloved! Way more peaker than any type of power ups. He was in Super Mario Bros 3 as a late power up so it has history. Either for Nintendo brought back that power up in Mario kart 8 deluxe, Tour, Odyssey and Movie.

The problem with the White Tanooki/racoon is that it is a super guide power up, meaning that you had to die multiple times to get it just like the Hadooken in Megaman X so this power up might not even canonically exist to begin with

Especially cause it downgrades to a normal Tanooki suit afterwards, but then gold flower does that and that one isn't a guide power up.

@videogamevis yeah I didn't point that out for the Gold flower because it is not a guide power up indeed but all 3 return to they "normal" counterpart but still, also in Mario&Sonic at the 2016's Olympics games the mii can have a power outfit theme after Mario and Sonic, for Sonic it is Super Sonic and for Mario it's Gold Mario but besides that I'm tempted to say that Mario doesn't have a Super Sonic equivalent cause he doesn't have something that's comparable to Super Sonic

My idea is pretty out there but: Super Power-Up Mario (From Super Mario-Kun [the Mario Manga]) It combines many of his abilities from Mario 3, such as flight, and invincibility. Plus, Friday Night Funkin' Mario Mix uses him over Fleetway Super Sonic

They are both evil but are very different in their mode of operations and the ways in which they are immature. - Aside from being girls and being pink, Amy and Peach don't have much overlap. Amy pines for Sonic who only sees her as a friend, Peach is possibly romantically pursued by Mario but shows little or infrequent signs of reciprocating. Peach is a politician Mario rescues from being abducted by the head of a foreign state, Amy is some nice girl trying to keep up with a hero she admires. Well said Dude! - Never thought about rings and super mushrooms being equivalents but lowkey yeah that makes a lot of sense -I would say that Tails is more of Luigi than a Yoshi or Toad, in frontiers Sonic literally refers to him as "little bro", and Luigi tends to be scared but brave like in Luigi's Mansion, and Tails has a similar arch in Sonic adventure -I think if I had to pick I'd say Knuckles would be Yoshi, but got their remote island shtick, not much more than that tho. Wario is strong and a rival to Mario but I think most would pin him to Shadow and Bowser is simpler with Eggman. Toad I guess could work but in Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, he's been equivalents to Charmy and Cream, some of the younger characters, which doesn't make much sense other than his voice and height. There are adult Toads in the series, not sure how old the generic ones are supposed to be. - Yeah Amy and Peach aren't as similar, I think it's just they're the love interests of our main two. You could say Peach is more like Elise, Sonic had to rescues her a TON, but only in o6, she's also got the politician/princess status. However, Peach does dabble in magic and Amy does with her tarot card readings although that's pretty different from Peach's powers.

The obvious answer of course is the Giga Cat, which is an explicit Super Saiyan reference and an end-game powerup, but it doesn't have the same lore implications as Super Sonic, since it is just a singular powerup, not a link to cosmic powers. For that, you'd need to look to the RPGs. In the Mario RPGs, Mario is often collecting seven Star Things (Pieces, Spirits, Crystals, etc.) There usually isn't a gameplay ability he gets from collecting them though (except in Paper Mario where he gets the Star Beam, but all this does is neutralize the power of the Star Rod rather than being a powerup or even a real attack). If you need a lore-based equivalent for a story, I think the closest would be the Starman, since it does grant invincibility, increased speed, cool acrobatics, and is related to stars, which are Mario's equivalent to the Chaos Emeralds. It doesn't have the same gameplay role though.

Z fan series the original run and the 2015 reboot, mario's super form have white overalls with golden clothes which looks sick and is used in the sprite animation community which can be reached by the star spirits which can be like the mario's world equivalent to the chaos emerald which even sonic and shadow can transform into his super forms in the SMBZ Universe

Thing that sucks is that they always come with a BUT. Super Star makes you invincible, but really short time limit. White Tanooki Suit makes you invincible and you can even fly! But you can only get it by dying repeatedly. Someone else in the comments said you could even argue if that White Tanooki Suit is cannon or not.
