What I’ve come to learn is that your eligible to get a license when you complete you masters in arch. Basically it gives you the right to take credit for your own projects.

@@Nature97689 the grades are a part of the process, but you do need to provide a legit portfolio of all of your architectural work when you finish undergraduate.

I went to graduate school in the U.S. and finished my studies in 2019. Compared to the UK it seems my school was an absolute joke. Also I went to one of the top schools in the country. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Really? I've always assumed that the U.S. has good schools considering how a lot of the famous architects are American. What makes you say that if you don't mind me asking?

@@SurvivingArchitecture I should note that my undergrad degree was not in Architecture, so I did not have the same foundation or frame of reference going into a masters program that you had. That said, the main issue with the program was that the professors were, generally speaking, not skilled teachers. Nor did they actually know how to use the digital tools we were expected to use to produce the work. This often meant that they had unrealistic expectations, and did not make suggestions that took into consideration the digital tools at our disposal. The studios were also not oriented towards practical skills or knowledge that would be used in the real world. Instead, the emphasis was on the theoretical or academic aspect of the discipline, which, with some exceptions, is generally unnecessarily verbose and yet lacking in any actual depth. I felt like I came out of the program with much less creativity and confidence in myself and my work, despite the fact that my skills continued to improve throughout my time there. The culture of overwork also took a toll on me both mentally and physically, and my ability to fall and stay asleep has yet to recover.
