Kyoto Mathematician Morita Masao unlocks the hidden mysteries and real-world applications of numbers.
Masao Morita
Independent scholar
The word "mathematics" may delight some people and terrify others. Masao Morita, while still enrolled with the Tokyo University Mathematics Department in 2010, began his explorations as an independent researcher by founding the Kai An Mathematics Dojo in Fukuoka. In the years since, Masao has been continuing his independent research outside the university system, conducting practical workshops that explore the concept of "thinking under constraints that go beyond our thoughts". His main research interests include Category Theory and the Theory of Computation. Masao seeks to fuse the theoretic and practical aspects of mathematics, and to share the insights they offer with the world. To this end, Masao regularly conducts unique "mathematics concerts" around the country, both conducting and performing in a demonstration of Mathematics that will leave you breathless.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Math is essentially a *technology* (a set of *tools*, like numbers, and *techniques*, like theorems) that we use to *represent* (or *simulate*) Reality. We use those simulations to *analyze* phenomena and *predict* results. Maths is so complex, it forces us to think over our... *thinking* (that is: cognition). That is the reason why it is so fascinating.

Okay, this is very simple: You take a few rules (axioms) you like and go wild. You create a whole universe of things these rules imply. You create (define) some objects. Math is the connections and relations between your objects. It's like Magic the Gathering, except you don't have to buy cards.

Now that I am a math major in college I was promoted to Head math tutor and I give advice to other tutors to help improve the learning experience for both the student and tutor.

Some of these comments suggest the problem faced in evolving a more coherent basis for math. Masao Morita has truncated his ideas, and they may sound trivial. But they're based in sound neuroscience. Humans (and other animals) come prepared with heuristic tools to explore reality. Infants have more neurons than adults, and those early years lay down a vast number of intraneural paths. Yet as I write this I realize how foolish I am, given the reactions already here.

at first, sorry for my poor English, I think, it may be difficult to understand what he wanna say for other than Japanese because what he say is based on or associated with Japanese traditional idea, culture, religions FEX "Zen" , and "experience of Kiyoshi Oka" in Japan the most. Japan is different from western country in every way. Actually,I read his book , andI think his main idea is that We can't make real real real..! things , because it has already exsited anywhere and It's changing constantly ... you know as this, It's so hard to express his idea lol....or I can't understand his completely too. haha But I think this idea helps a anything "〜gy" or olso life itself He is suggesting it help progless of mathematics, as there was the case of Kiyoshi Oka. He has not presented nothing about great discovers about mathematics yet, but I believe he will contribute to developments of mathematics in some way in the future. and I'm the one inspired of his book

Agree that Andrew Wiles is a very great mathematician but Wiles ‘s working is just useful for development modern mathematics. If he uses it for a three-letter equation like: x^n+y^n=/ z^n. It should become dull.when using wastefully 400 pages meat wrapping paper about a equation that was solved in only seven lines x,y,z,n are integers. n>2.Suppose: x^n+y^n=z^n. Define n=na.1/a Definitely find there exists at least an integer a ,such that z¹/a is an irrational number. Because x^n+y^n=z^n. So :x¹/a+y¹/a=z¹/a+d. So: (x¹/a+y¹/a)^na=(z¹/a+d)^na. x^n+nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a+y^n=z^n+naz^(na - 1)/a.d+….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na. naz^(na - 1)/a.d=nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a - [….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na]. na.z^n=[z¹/a / (x¹/a+y¹/a - z¹/a)]..{nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a - [….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na]} because choose z¹/a is an irrational number.=>[z¹/a / (x¹/a+y¹/a - z¹/a)] is also an irrational number=>polynomial later is also an irrational number. but [na. z^n ] is an integer. Unreasonable ! So: x^n+y^n=/z^n. Đồng ý rằng Andrew Wiles là một nhà toán học rất vĩ đại nhưng công việc của Wiles chỉ hữu ích cho việc phát triển toán học hiện đại. Nếu ông sử dụng nó cho một phương trình ba chữ như: x ^ n + y ^ n = / z ^ n. Nó sẽ trở nên ngu si đần độn. Khi sử dụng lãng phí 400 trang giấy gói về một phương trình đã được giải quyết trong chỉ có bảy dòng X, y, z, n là số nguyên. N> 2.Suppose: x ^ n + y ^ n = z ^ n. Xác định n = na.1 / a Chắc chắn tìm thấy tồn tại ít nhất một số nguyên a, sao cho z¹ / a là một số không hợp lý. Bởi vì x ^ n + y ^ n = z ^ n. Vì vậy: x¹ / a + y¹ / a = z¹ / a + d. Vì vậy: (x¹ / a + y¹ / a) ^ na = (z¹ / a + d) ^ na. x^n+nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a+y^n=z^n+naz^(na - 1)/a.d+….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na. naz^(na - 1)/a.d=nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a - [….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na]. na.z^n=[z¹/a / (x¹/a+y¹/a - z¹/a)]..{nax^(na - 1)/a.y¹/a+….+nax¹/a.y^(na - 1)/a - [….+naz¹/a.d^(na - 1)+d^na]} Bởi vì chọn z¹ / a là một số bất hợp lý. => [Z¹ / a / (x¹ / a + y¹ / a - z¹ / a)] cũng là một số không hợp lý => đa thức sau đó cũng là một số không hợp lý. Nhưng [na. Z ^ n] là một số nguyên. Không hợp lý! Vì vậy x^n+y^n=/z^n.

Then he claims that in math there are composers but there aren't players and he is going to be a player. I thought he was going to show something beautiful and creative. The big surprise was just the word "jocho". The audience is still confused because he said math is not all about numbers, but he hasn't said what is math about yet.
