Magic! Thanks so much for putting this online. I feel like EVERY person in the world needs at least one person to treat them this way - otherwise not having that secure space causes a lot of pain for that person as well as inflicting it on others.

This video was really great. The way he explains it to her and us is fantastic and I love the way the conversation went. Both so calm. Thank you!

Very informative. Jon Allen makes it much easier to understand "mentalizing". Carl Hernes, clinical psychologist.

I come from extreme abuse..but i have learnt mentalizing as a way of survival..this i use it in my sales and marketing by moving in my clients minds and knowing their needs..i do not use this for pathology or doing bad things for someone

Mentalizing sounds like Carl Rogers unconditional positive regard with empathy and genuineness but in a every-day setting, but just re-framed into one word?

Yup. Complete total bullshit that is impossible for any real person to understand. And making good money too, I bet!
@luciamixon41562 жыл бұрын
I think this concept is more in line with people who can't put themselves in other people's shoes /empathy or understand others as another separate person with feelings and humanity. I guess if you have personal identity problems...well...

Nope...it's tied into the theory of mind (but expanded). Look into the science of it, starting with the insular cortex and it's development, and what impairs it. You're close in the connection, but missing part of the equation.
