Here in our country you could stay with your parents even if your already super successful in your career. I think it's an asian thing and it's kinda good especially if you're just starting your career because you could just save the money instead of paying it for the rent.

I'm from India and that's partly true here. You can stay with your parents (and are expected to do so if you live in the same city). But you can't just use them to save rent at the beginning of your career. If you live with them, you live with them. So yes, they pay all your bills when you're young, and as you grow older you start taking over the bills until you're basically paying everything and your parents are enjoying their retirement. Even if you start living apart after a certain age, you're very much expected to send money back home (unless your parents are super rich and don't need it). So it's a two-way street. Parents pay your bills when you're in your twenties and you start paying theirs from your thirties onwards, generally.

I have actually noticed this one thing as an Indian, most of the people who are able to peacefully move out are the ones who actually have nice supportive parents. Don't get me wrong, children liked staying with their parents too it's not a big deal and really not a problem most of the time. Well I'm an Indian and i actually started freelancing and earning from an early age and later on i moved out after i turned 18 to make myself feel more self-sufficient and more productive. And after a while, i realised that it's not about leaving or going away but more like my parents just wants to make sure that I'm taking care of myself and doing well and that I'm not under some wrong influence. My mom used to call me every night just to make sure for which I feel glad. Also they do might have a feeling of isolation inside them but they probably don't tell that as they may feel that it'll sound like an excuse to make yourself come to home. So i used to visit my home to meet my parents and most importantly to have the lovely and delicious food made by my mom. As there's a saying in Hindi that "Dil ka rasta pet se hoke jaata h" meaning the way to heart is through your stomach. Personally I feel it's ok to move out for personal growth for a while but just don't forget your roots and where you belong. And these's are basic principles of Indian parenting.

They didnt wanna tell me to leave but I could sense they didnt want me there. I was even paying rent as if they were my landlords. I didnt mind contributing.. it just seemed like I wasnt Family anymore and was suddenly an unwelcomed Tenant. So I just decided to leave. I struggled a lot in the beginning.. I'm almost 35 and I'm still trying to get the hang of everything. Another thing that's really odd is that my Mom and I help eachother from a far financially... Things that (I guess) are normal in Germany but not outside of it: - knocking on a table instead of clapping your hands for applause. Especially in university - wait for green traffic light even if no car is coming - indirectly complimenting someone by simply not criticising them ("Can't complain about that.") - patriotism is frowned upon unless it's for sports - no speed limit on some highways - eating bread for breakfast and dinner, we have over 300 kinds of bread after all (toast is not bread) - splitting bills in restaurants - being brutally honest. You ask someone how they're doing? Prepare for a summary of their current life. Also means criticism can be harsh but helpful. - Rules are there for a reason so you follow them and call others out for not following them. Especially if kids are around. Beware of grandmas, they're terrifying if they see you breaking rules. - you have to stare each other in the eye while saying cheers or you'll have 7 years of bad luck or bad sex. - everything is closed on Sunday so you spend time in nature

It is changing in Canada with young people living with their parents longer. I had to move back in with my parents which they were completely fine with. I know a number of others my age living with their parents. It goes both ways that younger ones can't afford their own home, parents can't afford on their own to retire.

The thing about staying with your parents is rapidly changing. Like students like me just study so hard to literally go live in colleges that are 23 states away so our parents can't control us and that period is called the fun period where we openly get to have relationships and try new things with freedom for the first time.

Can't say for the country as some absolutely can't wait to 'be grown' but in my family you can be super successful in your career and it is still okay if you wanna move out later. So you could be 30 and you're good.. If you got married, they would be willing to build a 2nd property on the lot solely for your new family and still cook your dinner.

Fun fact from mongolian culture- if you touch feet/ shoe(s) with even a stranger you shake hands because, that touching means you will have problems with each other. When i was jn high school and this happened a lot, one would just grab the others arm instead of shaking hands and that was understood. When i moved to the usa i would randomly grab friends or acquaintance s hand/ arm and realize they didnt understand what i was doing! Had to explain, and to this day i still have the reflex

This is very specifically US American. In Europe people tend to leave home if they have to study far away but they tend to live at home as long as possible until they can afford their place. Leaving is really a personal choice and staying at your parents’ at 25 isn’t looked down on at all.

The Ugandan guy what he meant by kneeling is sketch a bow like one knee down, the way diana used to do or those people in the royal families......but those people in the Big Cities dont so that anymore ... The funny thing about these, is that besides the bowing and the kneeling (which I find sexist), Canada is adopting these traits. Canada's culture is to adopt traits and share. That's what multiculturalism is. It's just so going. For example, the first ladies outfit is super common where I live.

In most of Asia the children are taught that they should give back the same care they received from their parents. That is why it's normal that a grateful child lives with their parents, in order to take care of them, not to be taken care of. Especially when the parents are of old age, they must be given care from their children

I'm not trying to disrespect any culture or beliefs and if someone feels like this comment is disrespectful, I apologise but it's just what my current thoughts are. I feel like the Uganda one is kinda unfair. Like a woman is supposed to kneel but a man isn't. I mean like respect goes both ways buddy. And I know kneeling is part of other cultures as well such as Korea or Japan etc.. but in their culture it doesn't depend on the gender. Everyone bows down or kneels to pay respect to elders however the fact that only the women are supposed to kneel and not the men does make me feel like it's a bit unjust. Again I'm not trying to disrespect anyone. Maybe all of it has a particular meaning and a logical reason behind it which I may be unaware of. But based on my current understanding it almost seems a little bit misogynistic.
