This is why i set core and mem clock locks on my vast rigs, and have the CPU locked at stock clocks with an undervolt. I don't want someone abusing and damaging my hardware. I still need to look into whether someone renting can override the nvidia-smi settings, and if so, set a cron job to just reapply the locked clocks every 60 seconds.

I glad i have a bigger psu so max PTD will not blow my psu. like i have a 1,600 watt on a x399 mb and 2xevga 3070 with a max ptd of 300 watts each.

hmmm it was just a matter of time before people start using these for mining.. they get the payouts for mining you get a cut... seems pretty brutal TBH if someone can just rent at a cheaper cost to mine and you have to deal with the thermals and 100% usage and not get the actual mining returns... Hmmmm I wonder if this is going to be a thing, cheaper to rent and mine with someone elses hardware to get coins?

@TheMiningKiiNG ... I had miners on my vast rig when I first started because I had it priced too low. Raise your price and they will go away. I'm 0.23ish on 3090's, rented almost always with AI jobs instead of mining. Also, be careful with the interruptible price as well. Oh... good info, Thanks!

@The Mining King -> realistically out of a 30 day period how many days are your 3090 rigs actually leased/rented ? Also is there no way to set a PL and OC limits to prevent ridiculous usage ? Is there a big benefit for renters' work loads to have 24+ GB of Vram or is 8-10 enough to be attractive to renters/leasers ?
