I also prefer the speed of Nordost cables, which run at the speed of light (about 670,616,629 miles per hour). Audioquest cables only operate at 670,616,628 miles per hour which I find extremely annoying.

Install a single circuit breaker from the fuss box to a single outlet. This will eliminate any buzz, giving the best sound. For added safety install a whole house surge suppressor. And one more thing use monoblocks and install them as close to each speaker as possible.

RE: Off axis response: it matters because speakers which have this e.g. ancient beloved MIrage M3s (bipoles), wide dispersion box speakers (e.g. LSA) as well as omnis tend to have huge soundstages and disappear. Magical.

Hi Adrian and Vilip, love your videos and your honesty, humor and insight. I have the Maggies 1.4 since the late 80s driven by Classe 30 pre amp and Classe 70 amp rated at 75 w per channel and is high current capable. Drives these speakers beautifully. No lack of bass at all and sometimes goes deep. No problem with all genres of music.I was considering getting a Klipsch Forte 111 just to get a different sound from paper cones and to alternate my listening between these and the Maggies. Is this a good idea? I know Adrian, you are not a fan of horns

I have only been a true diehard 2 channel audio listener, never did the home theater thing despite the popular thing since the early 90's... i just go to the theater for that lol... that said do you even get a true high-end audio 2 channel sound with using 1 of those multichannel receivers hooked up to 5 speakers? i have a pair of 1998 Paradigm Reference Studio/100 Loudspeakers driven by an Onkyo M504 and Adcom pre-amp, never needed a subwoofer with my towers, my real prize possession is a mint Nakamichi Rx-505 cassette deck sold to me for 300 dollars in the 90's... only thing ii would change is having more power for my speakers since my amp is rated at 165 watt/channel, but i just love those meters on my amp...

Adrian…….., I’m sorry to say this, but having heard Shindo Labs gear back in 2010 at Don Better Audio here in the states ( USA ), as well as many brands of tube gear since 1978, I consider it to be the very best sounding tube gear I’ve heard, as far as I’m concerned many can keep their ARC | C-J | C.A.T. | Constellation | MacIntrash. I’m aware it’s personal, but todays brands are more akin to sounding like solid state, versus tube gear of old.

Checkout the audio file scientist that puts all these claims about how great these cables are blow your mind you’re wasting your money on high end cables it’s all in your head. What do you think you’re not hearing or what you are hearing unbelievable I think number one and audio file if you’re going to be an audio file in the hobby, you have to understand what an instrument sounds like an oboe percussion instrument, a symbol of violin strings, and then you can justify and make a statement remember take 100 of us audio files put us on the wall play the same piece of music to 100 of us and we’re all going to hear something different so they listen to somebody else is review quite frankly full. Yes, you have to hear it, and you can’t tell you beforehand listen to this particular section wrong you just have to listen and make your own mind up but first of all you need to know what an instrument sounds like live. My opinion, and I’m a high-end audio file been in it as a hobby before 90% of you were born I got involved in a 13 1/2 years old working in electronics store part time and we had tubes transistors with just coming in anyhow enjoy your listening and stop listening all this BS and if you wanna spend $5000 on battery does a speaker cable be my guess you’re not gonna get the performance like if you put 1000 hp in an engine good luck guys Adrians, and honest shop believe me they know what they’re talking about but I can’t believe all the reviews because it’s in their ears not mine
