i am so glad that I clicked on my Psych Central newsletter this morning and found you. In 12 minutes I have discovered the reason why I am unable to heal from my past. I am in a quiet place finally but now am unable to break out of the depression and I am making poor coping choices. Your discussion has shone light on something I thought was finished, but is clearly not. Thank you. Time to get back to work on it...

Hi Renee, Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience. :) I'm a firm believer that a video, a book, or something similar can bring psychological insight that maybe we wouldn't get elsewhere. That's one of the motivations for my channel. So I'm really glad it was helpful. Take care

I survived a murder for hire attempt and many other creative ways to try to silence me I had to do alot of reading, praying and lost alot since I had to abandon my life as I knew it💔 I made it to court to testify and felt I could throw myself into acceptance and that it was over The process of obtaining a new name, social security number, changing house and career just made me angry and victimized all over each time I had to handle any business affairs I'm still coping since it's fresh (May 2022) and psyching myself to believe maybe it's a chance to reinvent myself ✨ Counting my blessings and thank you for this content it helps🤗

This was brilliant Tamara! Never heard the term and didn't know there was a label for this stage in life. You rock! Just read your article in Psych Central.

Támara- hands down, you are the BEST! God bless you. Thank you so much for providing this kind of essential information. It's also enlightening and empowering. I've learned more from you in over the past month or two than I did on my own in twenty years. Thanks for sharing the knowledge and giving us understanding. Your wisdom also reflects in your teaching style. You have a way of making psychotherapy sound less psycho- and more therapeutic. You are such an amazing gem and an awesome gift to this trying world. Your channel is like a beacon of hope, health, and healing that sheds light in the most vulnerable of areas. I am so glad that you take your precious time to do this for us. And that outro music is something to jam to!

This is so humbling to hear. 💖 Thank you so much. Anytime I do a video I'm always relying on what my heart and what my spiritual intuition tells me might be needed at the time. I really do believe that God supports my work so thank you for confirming that. And I'm really glad that these are helpful to you; glad to have you on the channel!

@@TherapistTamaraHill Without a doubt, that's exactly why I admire your teaching approach the most! I couldn't hope for a better example. I'm so relieved that a mere thank you, Tamára, is not enough. So I can't help but express my zeal like it's that eureka moment mixed with emotions of enthusiasm and inspiration. Imagine how refreshing it is going down another rabbit hole looking for recourse, or research, or just some relief- and then finally finding an essential resource- treasure troves chock-full with all of the right kind of assistance and answers and examples; the objectivity and understanding; the openness and vulnerability and transparency; the guidance; rationality; the outreach; the solution; and even a sympathetic ear to boot. Plus, on top of all of that, the rabbit hole leads to the essence of breakthroughs complemented with that kind of reassuring energy that makes it all worthwhile- the value of a very validating community. I have renewed faith, renewed confidence, and a renewed understanding- thanks to your enterprise and expertise. I thank God for all of your kind of amazing souls in this world. When you have that big of a heart, you just have to share it with the world. And I think that makes you more than an extraordinary individual. I just wish that there's an infinite number of people from here to eternity- emitting that same kind of angelic spark that God blessed you with. I can only aspire to be as authentic and admirable as you have exposed yourself to be. And to have that kind of drive, determination, and dedication it takes to wholeheartedly help kiddos heal and live their best lives- makes you the one of the most precious gems ever in existence- an epitome in your expertise. Psychotherapy is the answer to the question that I didn't have the language to ask about. How to help reduce the stigmas is what I was soul searching for. Now, I see more efforts to promote mental health care for all of us. How to engage with an unavoidable toxic egomaniac is something I can manage now that I notice it's also something that can trigger my own past traumas. Overall, I am just so overjoyed to know that all of the other kiddos have somebody like you in this world who is well equipped- ready, willing, and able to help us all overcome our individual psychological and emotional challenges. You truly are an angel in my eyes. And I can't ever thank you enough. But it's very therapeutic for me to keep trying. Who knew?.. Therapy works! And I know that you already understand that. Thank you three thousand.

Thanks so much for this. I have heard of the term but never fully understood. I do believe I can grow from my trauma but just haven't quite seen it yet. Maybe it takes time?
@TherapistTamaraHill6 жыл бұрын
truth4utoda It does take time. Like I stated in the video, a lot of people struggle with post-traumatic growth because it's a long process. But once you begin to process your grief and truly benefit from therapy or other forms of help, post-traumatic growth is likely. Thanks for watching!

Hey I am finishing my masters in cmhc and counseling at a child advocacy center and your videos really help. Do you have any worksheets or tangible resources that I can use while there and working with these families ?

Sammy James Hi Sammy, thanks for your question. And thanks for watching! I would Google trauma-focused CBT manual. There is a good CBT manual for kids that might be helpful that is often available online. As far as adults, I would visit the National Alliance on Mental Illness and see what they have. Take care
