What is good Salesnation!? Please don't forget to leave feedback or questions I haven't answered yet. I love interacting with you guys and look forward to opening more doors for everyone working on getting into this industry. In todays video I bring you up to speed on quiet firing. 2023 will change the quiet quitting game. You need to be ready to change your technique as managers are getting more savvy to the movement.
I’m sure everyone knows what quiet quitting is, but if not it’s also referred to as slacking, taking your foot off the gas, and acting your wage. It’s doing the bare minimum to not get fired.
According to the bureau of labor statistics in the first half of 2022 productivity has plunged at its sharpest rate since 1947.
Most recent Gallup survey shows half of US workers describe themselves as quiet quitters. Gen Z and millennials are seeing the biggest drop in engagement.
Another stat from GlassDoor says that when employees give reviews these days they are mentioning burnout 42% more than in 2019.
I’m bringing all this up because employers are now quiet firing. This isn’t new, but just more prevalent now. Example is your boss makes your life at work more difficult.
Resume Builder.com reports that 1 out of 3 managers admit to quiet firing in hopes that employees will quit. More examples I want you to look out for is
denying you paid time off,
demoting you or not giving you said promotion,
denying you a raise,
adding more frequent sit downs to talk about your productivity, putting you on a PIP.
They are basically trying to make your life miserable so you’ll quit. If you’re stubborn about this and putting up with it for the paycheck, just understand that this is a toxic environment and not great for your mental health.
If you still don’t believe me about quiet firing just take a look at big tech right now. It started with a hiring freeze. And then a “light” round of layoffs and now you see in the headlines Facebook is going to layoff 15% of employees. That is 12 thousand employees when you look at their numbers.
Amazon has frozen all corporate hiring due to economic uncertainty, Lyft is cutting 13%, Stripe cutting 14% of staff. Not to mention the mass layoffs at twitter. This is real.
So If you’re in the hunt and can’t afford to be let go then my advice to you is to step up your quiet quitter game and become a quiet quitter 2.0. Pepper in some spurts of productivity and make sure your boss notices. Plan of doing this every 6-8 weeks until you land your new opportunity. All the managers that catch my video you should definitely drop me a super thanks. I’m helping you by getting your workforce to try a little harder.
