The message of the Bible is that no matter how evil you think you are, no matter how far you feel you are from God, you can get right with God. You can go to heaven. All you have to do is put your full trust in Jesus. The message of the Bible is that Jesus was punished for all the evil things you have done or will ever do. He loved you so much that he was willing to die a horrible, brutal death for what you did. He was punished for your actions. If you believe in him and trust him you will have eternal life with God. You will not go to hell because Jesus already went for you. All you have to do is trust in Jesus. Nothing else. You don't have to go to church. You don't have to give money to people. You don't have to do anything but believe in what Jesus did. That he sacrificed himself for you so that you could go to heaven.

Belief in Jesus necessitates obedience to his commands and will. Going to church, for example, is a biblical concept. Church attendance doesn’t save you, but it’s an indication of Christian obedience. You should go to church.

@@holdenmontgomery2273 You are right in everything except your first sentence.

@@urfriendlyhood how?

@@holdenmontgomery2273 Belief does not necessitate Obedience. That makes no sense. It would also contradict with your 3rd sentence where you say Church Attendance does not save you. Works Salvationists say, "If you don't Attend Church, you aren't saved." You say, "If you don't Attend Church, you aren't saved." What's the difference?

@@urfriendlyhood I'm not a works salvationist. Let me put it this way - No one is required to go to Church or to obey any commands as a prerequisite to being saved by Christ through their belief in him. But 1 John 2:3-6 would tell us that a saved Christian who is not obedient to Christ does not exist. Once someone is saved through faith alone, it is necessary for them to obey. Obedience, like the fruit of the Spirit, is a result of salvation, not an ingredient in it. But that would mean that someone who claims to believe in Jesus but routinely disobeys him is not a Christian. Going to church is an act of obedience that a faithful Christian must, or will as a consequence of their salvation, do. So sure, obedience is not what saves someone, but it necessarily follows that a person who believes must obey.

compassion matters because not everyone speaks same language, or sees world same way. Without compassion you starting wars as a preacher. dosn't matter how perfectly you memorize a book.

If they really believed their theology, Calvinists would not preach, because everyone's eternal fate was decided before they were born.

God brings about his eternal decrees by means. The preaching of the Gospel is the means God uses to convert sinners.
