I wish I could remember who I can attribute this clever piece of advice to, but she said, "rotation helps you avoid the sins of one company." So if you use one processed food that has a problem with, say elevated vitamin d levels, rotation avoids bombarding the pet with an inappropriate level of this vitamin.

Hello Dr. Francis , thank you so much for very informative videos, I truly enjoyed them even the sarcastic part 😂 lately I start rotating my dog protein as a topper for his dry food and it’s working wonderfully. My dog is more excited than eating chicken every single day. Regarding kibble can you be more specific how to do it? Let’s say my dog is on a grain free chicken diet and I start giving him grain including chicken but I did transition for 2weeks to make sure he won’t get upset gastric. My question is if I’m using the same brand but different protein do I need to make a transition? Or just switch to a different protein. Thanks again and I hope that one of your future videos will show us how to cook a homemade complete diet for dogs and cats that will be great.
