Excellent video. I think with the "New Age" movement there are too many people who want to claim being a Shaman without sufficient teaching and want to work with spirits because it is "cool" and start making up all sorts of silly things. It is treading fragile ground and not having a foundation or decent background knowledge on the subject is disrespectful, to those who practice and to the spirit world itself. Not where you want to make enemies! I wouldn't dare cross into the spirit world without preparing myself first in some basic things; drinking water, dressing warm enough, a rattle, turquoise for protection, garnet and tourmaline for grounding, etc. I am also very thankful for having learned Centering Prayer from Benedictine and Trappist monks! Little did I know how helpful those times would be in my magical works! xx

Yes, spot on. My gift is extreme and it has been hard to except. But I've always had a strong feeling my ancestors are near and I have received this gift from them. To see, feel, and hear spirits has been intense for me. I've felt alone and very different my whole life and never understand why. And ur right about making my own business, goals:)

So with working with a deity. You were talking about grounding he was saying that every time you work with your deity after whatever that the practitioner should ground themselves??? Every time after or does that depend on the practitioner themselves or is that a good practice to get into when starting to work with a deity

I have questions for you regarding spirit work. Well first of all I feel like I don’t know how it happened but I seem to have skipped all those stages to the part where I feel the deity that I wish to work with which is Hades right near me or my shoulder or next to me. I just feel so much warmth and love and feel him calling to me to work with him or devote myself to him. How is this possible if I was supposed to do all these other steps but wasn’t even trying to take part of those steps? He came to me in my dreams as well wanting me to devote myself to him. Its like he is courting me, like asking for a marriage in some spiritual way. So he was just calling to me it seems. Not as interested in trying to do all that other stuff you mentioned so maybe it’s more like he just loves me and wants to show me my spiritual path? But I don’t wish to have him posses me or anything or at least I don’t feel like he wants to do that either. My next question is I don’t really relate to any of the reasons you say that people want to do spirit work and I’m beginning to think maybe I have it confused how things work See I personally want to help spirits who are possibly stuck in the ethereal plane or are afraid to move on to wherever they need to go and I just want to help them. Or simply be their friend if they would like to stay in my home but are not bad When I accidentally started trying to do spirit work without the proper training a spirit said out loud “Help me” So is this something that even goes along with the the beliefs of spirit work or is there some other thing that I’m not understanding? I don’t feel like I want to gain anything from them And I also want to make offerings to Hades and take care of cemeteries and things like that
