What is: Steel Vengeance - Cedar Point

Steel Vengeance is a steel hybrid roller coaster, located at Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio, USA. The ride, which was manufactured by American company, Rocky Mountain Construction, was a result of a dramatic upgrade to a previous roller coaster at the park, Mean Streak. Mean Streak was a large scale wooden coaster, built in 1991. The renovation improved the ride drastically, adding more exciting elements, and multiple inversions. Mean Streak was just...uncomfortable, and boring. It wasn't fast, or exciting. It just knocked you all over the place and was very uncomfortable. Redoing it into Steel Vengeance is one of the best moves Cedar Point has ever made. I never even bothered with Mean Streak the last few times I went there. But Steel Vengeance is awesome. The only beef I have is the whole "no phones in line" thing. Sure, I understand no phones on the coaster. It makes sense, it's a safety issue. But can't they do what European parks do, and just have lockers where you get on the train, to leave your phone there?

I was just there they gave you a stamp that says you "failed" the detection but just made you put it in a zip bag on your seat.

I was there the day it reopened with one train after the collision. We were so lucky right as we walked up we saw a train crest of the lift hill and they shortly opened the line. And the ride was absolutely amazing! I'll never forget that day at Cedar Point.

Rode this for the first time on 10/20/19 in the front row. All I can say is it's incredible!! Mind blown. This POV video doesn't do it justice. It's so intense and so incredibly FUN! Very smooth ride. Just passing some info: They provide a convenient under-seat pouch for phone/sunglasses/keys. People, USE IT!! Thought I could wear my waist pack but the attendant made me check it into a locker. They also have a metal detector you pass through before you get to the station, which seemed a little much in my opinion. At that point they want phone and keys out of pockets. If you have one they stamp your left hand with an X. All in all, an absolutely fantastic coaster!! I cannot wait to go back one a weekday in May when the lines aren't 3 hours long:) But as first timer, it was worth the wait!!! Throw your hands up and enjoy!

Mean streak was actually my favorite ride at cedar point. I was sad to see it go, but I'm happy it was replaced by a ride as great as steel vengeance. Steel vengeance is a wild experience. I rode it as the last ride during fireworks and it was magical and you didn't know where you were going. It was a rough but fun ride. Kinda like mean streak but better

Thanks! I've been waiting for this one, especially since I got my first ride on Steel Vengeance a few weeks ago. I have to admit I was skeptical when Taylor and so many others were proclaiming it their new #1 after only a couple of rides. It's impressive, you can tell that by looking, but is it really that much better than absolutely everything else in the world? After having ridden it...yeah, it probably is. Even comparing to some other top coasters in the world -- Fury, Millennium Force, El Toro, Lightning Rod -- Steel Vengeance is just that much more intense, with more elements than you expect, and a great pace. It's simply on another level, and I think you have to ride it in order to believe it. RMC raised the bar with this one.

I mean your narration sounds a bit more potent and active in this video, if that's the right way to put it. Usually I envision you with a peaceful, down-to-earth-type expression when you voice over videos, but this one made me think of you with a more serious, imposing expression. Maybe it's the way you enunciated words, or maybe it was the music, I'm not sure. Hard to explain, but it works well with the subject matter in the video.

Cant say anything bad about the coaster. Rode on july 4th with fireworks in the distance...was amazing! If they have fireworks hit up this ride. Shortest wait time ever 15 minuets.

I don't know what it is about wooden coasters, but all of my favorite coasters are wood or hybrid. I would be impressed with a hybrid coaster akin to steel vengeance that could complete a couple loops in addition to the rolls and turns on steel vengeance. Maybe a coaster with an uphill launch like Maverick? IDK what could be more popular than steel vengeance, but those two things would win in my book

Very nice Video! The next world breaking RMC is coming to Walibi Holland. They are refurbishing the wooden Vekoma 'Robin Hood' with also 4 inversions! Ready in 2019. The wooden Vekoma is still operating now but will be closed soon.

Seriously the best roller coaster I've ever been on. It's crazy, and I was screaming "Is this shit over yet?!?!" because it was so intense, but after it was done I wanted to go again but fuck waiting in another 2 hour line lol. Some people said that Mean Streak had several records until 2016 and it’s track was demolished to rebuild it with a steel track featuring new elements on the layout, and one more thing Doing phones on rides might be dangerous ⚠️ that will end up hitting someone leading to accidents and broken phones or risk yourself that you will be injured 🤕 of being colided by one of the trains so Be Safe.

I305 is quite an amazing ride as well! I rode both on my coaster tour, and Steel Vengeance is my new favorite. But it's so different from a giga. I305 is about speed & intensity, plus some airtime. Steel Vengeance is all about the airtime and disorientation. SV is better for me, but everyone will have their own opinion based on what they like. For example, Fury fanboys get triggered that I put Fury below I305 & Millennium. I just don't like the way most B&Ms ride, while most people love how they ride. Some people won't like how RMCs ride.
