I actually owned that exact same Wallace and Gromit mug when I was a kid (well, it was my mum's). It was actually heat activated, so Gromit's nose would glow a bright red when you poured hot water in it. I loved that mug. It was unpractical. But I loved it. I'm fairly certain it was part of some kind of a promotion for cereal or something and we got it for free (well, as free as 'buy this and get it' can be). Speaking of, surprised heat activated mugs weren't covered here. They're always cool until the outer layer starts to peel off no matter how careful you are, then you just have to throw them away. They NEVER last.

Two things, best mug objectively is the Holkham owl mug, not made any more but readily available through eBay. Secondly, best way to enjoy tea is still a small Turkish tea glass. Fight me! 😬

Is Turkish tea sweet, and a little minty/tart? Trying to work out of that's what I had whilst on holiday in Tunisia as a kid. It was definitely in a small glass!

@@JAMIEvstheVOID It varies with personal taste, but most people drink black tea, grown regionally in Turkey. They tend to make it really strong, in a double boiler construction (kind of an evolution from the samovar), and then when serving pour the concentrated tea together with hot water so you can vary your own strength to your taste. Some people like it strong, often called "rabbits blood" because of its deep red hue. I would not call it sweet though, for sure. There's a really good wiki article called "Tea in Turkey" which is worth nerding down into if you're curious 🙂

I really like the older mugs that give the impression that they were handmade and they are typically glazed with earthy tones. Plus the wide bottoms with smaller tops just feel super cozy to me and the small handles for my tiny hands work well 😂 Although, on a bad day I make hot chocolate in an old ceramic stein that my grandpa gave me💕

Funny thing, I actually do have some favorite mugs (even though I lost them when moving a few years back). One of my favorite mugs was one I made myself when I was in high school, it was an MLP mug with Discord as a balloon on it and I wrote on it "Have A Cup Of Chaos" or something like that. The mug was a little big, you could fit a quarter more of coffee or tea in it than most other mugs. I wish I knew where it ended up at.

I also have a Periodic Table mug! I “stole” it during a yankee swap my chemistry professors hold every Christmas. Unfortunately it’s a bit big for drinking, so I only use it to make microwave cookies in. My actual favorite mug that I use all the time is one I got on Etsy. Simple white mug, cool Lucario design on it, and I customized it to say “Brewcario” on the side. Because Pokémon puns are the best puns. 😅

@Doodle Byte I just had tea from a normal kettle today and it was so easy just put in the water set it on the stove and let it take like no time at all for it to tell you exactly when its ready

@@idk9747 I have both :) Mental energy is a weird thing. Sometimes it's simple and wonderful to plop the kettle on while listening to cozy music until the kettle sings, sometimes it seems easier to flip a switch and let the water bubble. Sometimes it's also a time factor. I've noticed my water kettle tends to bubble faster than my old stove.

I have a cup with smiley face. 🙂 It works really good. It's not 3D face. It's a little small and cute. It's light, not heavy. I like that cup a lot. I also have a clear cup. It's very pretty. ✨
