I have SI joint pain. I am and doing Egoscue (postural therapy)… Also, I just got the Cushion Lab ergonomic de-pressure seat cushion (because my si joint pain is caused by when I put pressure on it - sitting or standing) + the lumbar support… I am still having pain… Any advice?

Hi, great video, what do you think about Spinalis chairs with active sitting mechanism and Kuliksystem chairs where we have very contoured seat?

Hey Damian, thanks for pointing out these chair models! I have never sat on them, to be very honest... so my feedback is a generic one. Reg. Kuliksystem: contours seats give you less possibilities to deviate from a predefined posture. Hence, my experience is that these chairs are either loved or hated: there's no in-between. Hence, you could consider one if you tried it and loved it, but I wouldn't buy it as the one and only chair for my 3000 colleagues ;) Reg. active sitting: have a look at the intro of my video on the Soul Seat kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJXanqJpaJibrqM. I'm not a fan of these active sitting philosophies, because they often ignore that alternating between unhealthy postures is not gonna make you feel good: you need posture variation through activity variation, i.e. to sit and stand because you sit for screen work, stand for calls, have stand up meetings, lean back with a headrest to listen to music, etc. In other words, there has to be a very exact match between posture and activity, whereas these chairs make you move whilst sticking to one activity only. Does this relate to your own experience somehow?

Yes I have expirience with Spinalis chair, I bought it 2 years ago because of low back pain, after year I deciced to back to classic office chair(IKEA Markus), cuz my muscule are weak and this chair requires from you strength to keep correct position(less support). I started exercise to strengthen my back. After year of sitting on IKEA Markus I noticed that first 6 months were good, but in next 6 months and I noticed that when I was more strength and flexible this chair start disturb me cuz e.g. when I come back from exercise and my muscules are warmed up sitting on this chair cooled down them and I felt stiff(I think it's might be same situation like from your viedo about sitting early moring when somebody has got lower back pain - kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4GpiamQaM6LnKc). I decided to switch back to Spinalis chair. I'm using it for one week and it seems like lower back pain dissapears and I didn't feel stiff after sitting on it, but I also start feel wrist/forearm pain on left hand I think it might be because of presure on hands during sitting, saw yours last video about this - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ7HpnpqgMxkjNU I don't have expirience with Kuliksystem chairs, but some people encouraged me to try it out and I wanted to know your opinion on this. Probably in future I will have option to sit on one of them I will give update. I will try Spinalis chair for longer using your tips about ergonomics and I'll see what the situation with my body will be look like.

I found better words to describe how I'm feeling when I setting on IKEA Markus - "I feel like I'm stagnating, even when I take breaks from work" and I'm afraid that while sitting on the Kuliksystem this effect will be even greater, but we will see What chairs models/companies do you recommend?

It's a matter of price and mechanism: on the 9000 you have a lever to choose between synchronous tilt mechanism (like Plus 8) and asynchronous (like Plus 6). They sell the 9000 much less, to be honest...

What if you can tilt the seat forward by a lot of degrees while still being able to sit all the way back to support the pelvis? (I think this is possible on the Fern). Is it a good idea?

@@OlivierGirardAs you pointed out in your review of the Mirra chair by Herman Miller, this is not a problem on that chair because the backrest tilts forward with the seat pan (same goes for the Aeron)!
