the thing is, unironically, 60 fps is bad for montages and edits that have velo. in most cases you wont want to go over 24 fps.

currently the only reason I was told to use 24 FPS is the improve the compression (cuz lower bitrate), but I already fixed that by upscaling the video to 4K to scam more bitrate is there any actualy reason to use 24 FPS?

@@siriusmart first, you have a lot more frames to work with if you edit in 24 fps, assuming you render a slow cinematic in 120 fps. Editing in 60 fps often causes unnecessary framedrops. 60 fps also takes longer to render as your video just contains more frames. 24 fps was always the standard for movies and TV shows and theres a reason why that was determined. Many edits often use an fps even lower to fit a certain style or song. If you look at my christmas edit (not the collab) you can see that i used 16 fps to give it more of the warm feeling.

1. If 60 fps cause frame drops, then 24 fps is like frame drop for the whole video? 2. TV shows use 24 fps cuz they are broadcasted with those huge towers thing instead of your fibre broadband, making 60 fps too much for them to handle. Also note that 720 is called "Standard HD" but nobody uses it, its just kinda outdated 3. But your edit looks a lot more than 16 fps

@@siriusmart 1. a framedrop is when theres an inconsistency in the framerate. It's a lot easier to drop from 60fps than 24fps. 2. Not just TV but film in general. 3. My edit might look like more than 16fps bc youre used to seeing what 60fps looks like. If you put it into perspective, 24 fps sounds like a lot---bc it is. if you right click the video and enable stats for nerds you will see that it is 16 fps
