Jetpack cats unlock requirement is really high , needing you to beat a brutal stage. So in early/mid game (itf/Cotc) catellite is still better the better option. This also applies to cone cat, but this situation is better because both cactus and future cat are unlocked in the beginning of late game, so you’ll be pretty stacked by then and unlocking cone cat is just a matter of time.

@RubTheCat let's be honest here, by the time you're able to get jetpack, which is by beating one of the only brutal stages in the game (which is total ass to boot), jetpack is already pretty useless. He's decent but definitely not great against barons, not even the 2 he targets. Tanking blacks is semi-viable, but Nono and Li'l GaoGao murder him in that regard. Bombercat and pizza also exist. Tanking aliens is even more of a no-brainer due to Catelite's existence. He doesn't have warp immunity, so he's not full proof against starred aliens (which is really the only aliens you'll find in late game) either. He would be good if you could get him FAR earlier, maybe around mid-game (at the start of UL, ig). But by the time you get him, you don't really have a use for him. I haven't used him at all aside from testing him in the xp stages when I got him.

I might as well add in some extra explanations to go along with the video… 0:40 not only that but Mr. Clay statue over there tends to clog up the cat limit with how slow it is which makes it a pain to use compared to other meatsheilds 1:11 while Viking cat is weaker at a base level of 30, he eventually overpowers belly dancer if you boost the both of them to high levels. At level 90 with talents, belly dancer has 60k health (85k avg health) while Viking cat has 200k health (not even accounting for strong orbs here which make an even bigger difference). It also depends on what the attack power and attack rate of the enemy is. Kind of comparing oranges and apples at that rate… 2:00 fun fact, Nono has half the base health of ramen but half the cooldown as well. Overall roughly the same as strong defense wise (not accounting for talents or orbs ofc) 2:46 cameraman is one of those weird units where is can act as both an stackable attacker and a psudeo meatsheild. Especially at higher levels you can use it without other meatsheilds against really slow and low range enemies to take them out without taking much damage. (I did that in floor 50 a few times) 3:40 catalite might fair a bit better when you boost it some but I still don’t think it can compete with jetpack until it’s talents come out (wushu and catalite talents when?!) 4:00 ramen can almost outcompete normal wall cat at a high enough level too! Since mine is maxed out in every aspect, I sometimes just use a research combo and use it as my only meatsheild and watch it shred everything with its crazy dps 4:35 before future cat was a thing jump rope cat wasn’t a bad pick for some stages despite how expensive it was 4:50 my problem with cone cat is how much money it eats. It’s super good when future cat cant cut it, but it makes some stages really hard just because of the lack of money. Switching between the two depending on the stage is the best option 5:20 same as before, catus cat is better for stages with low money or strong surge spam enemies (come doesn’t have surge immune). Also cactus cat has a really good combo with Lucifer that gives strong up which both of them have against aku. Other than that though, cone definitely can tank way more than cactus

Maximum the fighter/ viking cat has 3 kb count, making his effective hp(for stalling, which is a meatshield's job) only about 67k according to your numbers. Maximum at level 90 only has ~120k total effective hp against red(from mygamatoto) making for 40k usable hp. Bellydance also has 3 kb count, and with a level 90 total hp of 50k, their effective hp is only ~17k. Since belly dance has dodge, this can be increased by .3 for 30% dodge, making it 22k on average. Since belly dance has less health, same kb count, and same cooldown, maximum seems better. However, due to the nature of dodge, it lets you more easily stack up units, and on cyclone stages this can create a near immortal wall of bellydancers. Bellydance, unlike maximum, can also reliably get into professor A's standing range and tank capy hits decently enough. Though they both suck on mixed stages

I accounted for both max treasures and talents being added so it’s 64,240 * 2.5 * 1.2 The strong against ability is 0.4 times damage taken and 1.8 times damage dealt with max treasure as opposed to half damage taken and 1.5 times damage dealt. Other than that you do make a good point, Maximums knockbacks aren’t super helpful but he at least lasts a long time still… I just don’t care as much for relying on something super rng dependent to work

Personally I disagree with alien and floating because gold cat is just really bad and does instantly if not a pure floating stage but for 2.5x the effectiveness vs floating you can use takuya and Yuki (collab special) with 10k base hp instead of 5k For alien it could kinda be not classed as a meat shield but the tank soap cat is really good against aliens with 600k hp against them but 9 sec cool-down but has almost 1 million hp against behemoth aliens but I guess that’s not a meatshield then. Also for aku you should have considered that cone cat doesn’t have surge immune unlike cactus!

For red, black and floating, I, respectfully, disagree. Against red, you rarely, if ever, use either of those cats simply because Roe is way better than either at shielding even against stronger reds, especially thanks to Roe's weaken ability. (Also you didn't bring up Bellydancer for Akus, even though Bellydancer is used primarily for them and barely ever for reds) For black, there's Gau Gau from Princess Punt, who's way better at the job than Nono. For floating, Cameraman can't really bw considered a meatshield, not only due to range, but also because she's a mid ranged anti-floating DPS, King Nekokhamen is also pretty bad, only saved by toxic immunity. Octopus Cat is the best meatshield against floating. I know you consider meatshield cheap and spammable, but both Roe and Octopus are inexpensive and have a good recharge time.

Why you gotta diss my boy like that, you have to also take into account WHEN do people get Cone Cat, sure he outclasses both Future and Cactus Cat, but they will be your first and most reliable options for a massive portion of the game, not to mention the absolute pain it is to beat Kappy Kawano, most people will beat him at around Doron or Nalaa, or even in ZL due to lack of NP / Good surge inmune units / Idi, unlike Modern witch will 90% of the time be obtained before even beating An Ancient Curse due to most people getting Rodeo Cat's relic target, so Typhoon Nemo and Creation's Gyre are practically already beaten, and Extiction's Vortex can be easily beaten by cyberstacking or having good LD units. So, Modern Cat will be unlocked 90% of the time for the average player, even Future Cat before An Ancient Curse, now take into account how long will Future Cat be used, he is (during that period) your best and only Relic meatshield, as for Cone Cat, most people will never get to use him due to lack of time, interest, or lack of good anti-surge / relic units like mentioned previously, so even though Cone Cat is clearly the better option, i think they are in the same spot if we consider accessibility. (I would do the same bible for Cat Cactus, but i'm Future Chris, not Carl Cactus or smth).

About relic: future cat has insanely tough ability. He takes only 1/7 of damage. What means that he has 11050×7=77350 effective hp. And maze cat has only tough ability. He takes 1/4 of damage. It means that he has 74800 effective hp. He also is more than 3 times less cost (105 vs 375). Which means that future cat isnt completely outclassed by cone cat. But due to a lot faster reload speed, a lot higher damage (future cat basically just dont has it) and a lot faster movement speed, cone cat is definitely better. So futire cat might be second choice if you really need second relic meatshied.

Since those are subtraits they’re really hard to make a meatshield for all of them.. cone cat and jet pack cat ain’t gonna cut it, haniwa and bride cat are too specialized for general behemoths, and there are zero sage slayer meatshields. (I hope this isn’t a joke I didn’t get)

For some reason Ramen is really good against the standard Mooth. In combination with a Cameraman and Necromancer they basically can stall it, which is neat at the beginning of the battle.
