What Is the Best Tier 7 Unit in Homm 3 Based on Cost Efficiency - Preliminaries

In this video, we are going to test what is the best Tier 7 Unit in Homm 3 based on cost efficiency. We will compare different units in a tournament format. As a result we will have the best tier 7 unit in Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
This video is the first of two parts of the tournament containing preliminary matches.
The participants include the 16 tier 7 units from castle, rampart, tower, inferno, dungeon, necropolis, fortress, and fortress factions.
Tournament rules are:
- Unit amount: - How many units of the type can be purchased with 1.000.000 gold
- Units are divided into four stacks of equal size
- AI controls the both armies
- The primary skills of the heroes are minimized
- None of the heroes have secondary skills
- All heroes have Spirit of Oppression
- None of the heroes have a specialty related to a creature to be tested
- Heroes cannot use spells
- The initial match-ups are decided by RNG
- The units included: The units from the main game
(There might be a smaller tournament with expansion units & neutral units later, including top 2-4 of this tournament.
- Morale is enabled in battles containing Angels or Arch Angels
- The resource cost will be 1000 gold

Fun fact: the ability of Ghost Dragons Ageing is considered a lvl 5 spell. That's why it works against Gold Dragons but will not against Black Dragons

Upgraded units have no chance as the upgrade is money-wise only proportional on the side of HP, but not on the side of damage. 160 Red Dragons have 28800HP / 7200 dmg while 100 Black Dragons have 30000HP / 4500 dmg - and it is quite similar with all lvl7s. Some difference in Atk / Def / Speed cannot make up for that - maybe with the exeption of Titans that can at least shoot :) But I would like to be surprised maybe :-D

It seems that not upgraded tier 7 units have a huge advantage over upgraded ones. How about upgraded vs upgraded and not upgraded vs not upgraded? It should be much closer then.

Making resources cost 1000 gold screwed all upgraded units so much ). I don't think its fair though - you rarely buy resources with gold in a real game. Also, interesting that you pitted archangels and ancient behemoths in the first round, in equal numbers battle these would be the top two )

behemoths, ancient behemoths and hydras in this exact order, I think is going to be the winners (1,2,3) but maybe if hydras get some nasty 3-4 hits off it could be hydras coming out on top? A.I tends to act kinda werid against Hydras. sometimes taking a fight 1 v 1 insted of ganging up on one particular stack.

Arch Devils and Angels had difficult beginning (Especially arch Devils lost against Red Dragons) thats sad for them .

These videos are fun to watch, but they're not really showing much at all. The fact that one unit can beat another in head first battle doesn't say much. What happens if there's a wall? What happens when you mix with other units? Etc. Don't think many ppl would pick ADs over AAs at even money
