WHAT IS THE BEST VALUE LURE FISHING ROD?

I bought one of the 2-8g rods the other day in place of another rod I broke the tip off. Tried it this morning with a 1000 size Korum reel and a Fox Micro Fry in yellow, and had 11 Perch on it.....The rod is an absolute joy to use and flicks baits out 20 yards with ease (I was on a 1.75g jig head and an extra BB shot). Nice bit of kit indeed.

1000 if it's a short width or canal bigger reel better casting distance 2500 can give more comfort though

No. Or at least, i would not suggest. Think about a carp rod for dead baiting if you are aiming for big pike for example.

I can't understand why the UL spinning has a great reel seat that has the moving/clamping part at the front, and all threads covered, and EVA over the top of the seat; while all the heavier spinning rods have the exposed threads behind the seat, and bare plastic on top of the seat. When you're holding a heavier setup all day, it is even more important to have a comfortable grip.

The moving part at the front is where you put your hand when you reel in, I always found the reel comes loose on the front screw ones and the ones with a thread at the back are wayy more sturdy

This is apparently standard in the UK.. It's super annoying, was looking at some Rigged and Ready rods too, and no action listed.. Had to ask and the action of their rods were Medium Soft. I fish wobble baits with lips exclusively so it was a good thing i asked cause a noodle rod wouldnt do the job..
