I just like Erica's style of communicating! She has a style of guidance that is gently assertive yet calmly to the point.

As actors, auditioning, we straddle the line tween safe n risky choices in our interpretation of scripts n characters. As a CD what is too safe and/or risky; specific to live auditions? I.e. screaming, whispering, slapping, props, etc...

Exceptional question, that I feel can only be answered in a _case by case_ basis. Knowing the , Director, Producer, and CD's likes, and dislikes is a big help in the actor's decision factor. But that too is a whole knew can of worms to explore. IMHO of course

For myself, I go into an audition with the mindset that I am there, to make _your,_ (the CD, Producer, and Director's) vision, come to life. Regardless of my personal wants, I always let the CD know this upfront. Now that said. There have been two occasions, for historical roles, where my research of the character auditioned for, differed from what the Director, and CD initially wanted. Politely, I asked if they were aware of these differences, for a historically accurate persona? Both times worked well in my favor, landing the role, and performing it above their expectations. Congratulations are in order. Looks like you are broadening your wings to include Arkansas, too. 👍👍

Thank you a lot for all the time that you take to make these videos and sharing with us all these tips to improve ourselves and our chance of getting success in our professional careeres. About live audition, I have a question that always comes to my mind when I have to prepared one of them: Should we prepare an specific clothes for the audition, some kind of costume, wig or make up that we think can match with the character? Or is it better to wear just our regular clothes to present ourselves as we usually are, like in any other job interview? Thank you again.
