'In spite of all my love, care and attention, I don't know where I lack in bringing up my daughter. Can you throw some light on the best way of educating a child?'

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

One does not own one's children. They come through us, and one allows them to flower as a seed with the utmost tender care. Blooming is the essence of living of seeing what is with all its challenges of loving and death as one. We are the story of mankind. 🙏❤️🌍🌿🕊🎵🎶🎵🎶

Memorizing is required or done what we gain or know from outside . Learning is always from inside by forgetting the outside . What will you learn except yourself and all that you have accumulated within yourself ? Knowing all your inner being very clearly without any doubt because only you can know what you are from inside .

Their is no best way to educate a child. What ever they do they must be initiated without prejudice, forethought, afterthought and judgmental nature of human mind. Not making his/her life complex by following the norms of society but letting them perceive the world purely and attentively. When their is keen attention learning is just byproduct. Learning is just memory but if attention is sharp enough the child can prosper into wonderful divine being sadly all of the children are taught to be suspicious, manipulative and parrot/sheep. With parents working and not giving them their required time many think that school will solve all the problem. These days they give devices and let them surf whatever they want in internet this deludes their view and expectation of reality. Now days parents are okay as long as they learn many things or be multitaskers because society respects and cheers this types of peoples they are considered genius but the quality of life or experience of life that those children have are little to none by experience I mean the pure intelligence of human mind not memory.🎉

Imagine if every child while they are young and impressionable had to go spend a week of school visiting a veterans hospital. Seeing all the maimed women and men. Seeing the shattered parents. How many would never ever want anything to do with war or how many would think of revenge? I think more would choose to have nothing to do with it. And what if their parents also had to attend?

For all those confused here. J Krishnamurthy was a pure "Jnana Yogi" (those who achieve Liberation through Intellect). Now people will ask that J Krishnamurthy never proclaimed that he was a Yogi, so to make it clear, here's the explanation: In actual Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism) you never have to proclaim that you're a Yogi, you can be a Yogi even though you don't believe in any religion. In Jnana Yoga the Yogi investigates every aspect of present life and he questions everything (even the existence of God) and they keep on asking questions till the time God himself clears the doubts by revealing the TRUTH. And J Krishnamurthy already had got the answer that's why he is telling to read yourself (look within, investigate yourself). Jnana Yoga cannot be taught, it comes from within and that's why it can't be taught and hence J Krishnamurthy cannot become Guru and he knows that, that's why he played the role of a teacher who gave answers to specific questions. Why I mentioned specific because he doesn't delve into religious questions because that would be a kind of distortion from his path of Jnana Yoga. Hope my explanation helps in how J Krishnamurthy approached. ॐ नमः शिवाय।

They are completely free and functional when they are born and then we impose our particular view of life on them, as if they don't have a completely fresh set of eyes in a constantly changing world, what parents need to realize is children are born with a tremendous sensitivity, and their job is to teach the child how to survive in the particular culture they are born into without corrupting this incredible innocence they have. It's so sad to see the kids and adults who are/have been treated as a toy for the parents satisfaction, most parents unknowingly, leaving them dull and constantly unsatisfied. Love is such a shallow word nowadays.

I wish those people like the Florida governor who say, "we don't want indoctrination, we want education " could see this so that possibly they would understand that the "education " that we received in this place called America, that was designed and written predominantly by white heterosexual males, was an indoctrination. We did not have the opportunity to have the input of so many different human beings experiences that we were not challenged to think critically and question the information. We were simply spoon fed one part of a story and forced to memorize it.

I think he meant education should help children connect to the deeper meaning of life through helping them see linkages and connection points between everything that is. Incorporating skills at meditation, compassion, deep listening alongside hard and soft subjects, for example. This way they can be more psychologically adept at life; better be able to weather both the ups and downs of life (aka, the circus!) :) By psychological i think he means emotional and spiritual put together that helps see the deeper meaning in the day-today events. He is not saying factual knowledge is not needed - just that it’s not enough without the other pieces.

Krishnamurti's speeches are easy to follow and although not live anymore (so that you can ask/react) he is always trying to make sure that everyone understands his words, sometimes even giving time for the crowd to think. Please don't avoid listening, you don't have to read anything in order to prepare for the speech.I have never red the Upanishad or Gita. His speeches may be even better for people that have not red anything, even the most know philosophers like Lao Tzu or ancient Greeks.Even if you did, like me, Krishnamurti DOES NOT want you to blindly follow his words, nor do they lead to a certain answer. His words are meant trouble you even more than before, so that it ignites your thought and lead you to your answers
