The KZbin algorithm recommended the amalgamated video to me. At first I was cheered to see your excellent vlog once more, having enjoyed it twice before in the past. But then I quickly realised that this wasn’t a repost. It was a new journey. I’m very happy about that. I watched an hour already but have had to come to the very end in order to understand more fully the beginning. It has helped. Finisterre, rather than neatly drawing a line under the experience, seems not to bring closure at all. The ocean merely impedes further progress but you have to work it all out for yourself without any help. Perhaps by swimming out to the point of exhaustion and then quietly drowning would give enlightenment in those final moments. But it would be dreadfully inconvenient and does not come with my recommendation. Thank you for this latest creation.

Hey Ian, wow - your comment about Finisterre not bringing closure really hit home... Made me think of when I reached those waves, and just sat there for hours, feeling both empty and completely full at the same time. Its funny how the end of the path leaves us with more questions than answers sometimes. it’s like the journey keeps going even when you think it should end. And that bit about swimming to exhaustion - dark humor but I get it 😅 The Camino has this way of making us face these deep thoughts, doesnt it? buen Camino! ☀️

Gerrit, thank you for this great Camino reportage. Good Camino stories on YT are truly hard to find. You presented us with not only with great images, the pretty just as the gritty, and you took us along and shared your inner thoughts. That’s not an easy thing to do. And you edited your videos there and then on the way … just alone the multitasking of filming and talking coherently while walking or even when being sick. Chapeau 🎉. I mean it. After three Caminos now it seems you found what you might have been looking for, am I right? I hope you will still consider yet another Camino. … wherever. Maybe just for fun. As a fellow creator, you know how much this can mean… i hindsight, I don’t know how i managed to edit those videos on the go, but the permanently buzzing energy of the camino made me do it. i think, anyway… 😄 Have I found it? Wow ! In the middle…. I started originally on April 28th. After 12 days in reaching burgos I decided I didn’t like it this time so I reset my Camino and restarted in roncesvalles on May 11th. So your Camino is right in the middle of my strange Camino this year 😀
