They are soulless creations made for the sake of terrorizing the enemies of their masters. Lost memories, forgotten emotions of those who passed on. Barely given a mind to move their body so their masters don’t have to, but enough to realized their torment. Wandering, searching, seeking rest as they march to their death. Their only hope of respite to get in the way of those who summoned them. Will they ever die, see peace, end their suffering nobodies. However a time has come after the great runes wars where a savior has come. A celestial guided by the chimes of the souls seeking those lost memories and emotions, that have been captured. Their desire to be whole would result in the freedom of those soulless creations. They whisper and pleaded to the great Celestial Bard until he acquiesced and agreed. The search was long as the Chimes guide Bard along the rift, their slowly driving him mad until he was filled by one purpose to free the minions and hearing the chimes chant the same cry of their sorrow had utterly consumed Bard with one resolve for the sin of crating these poor minions from the fractured pieces of these lost souls that became chimes…”blood for the blood god”.
