Humility. AND having actually done whatever they are in charge of leading.

Great leaders are everywhere leading organizations successfully without having ever done what they are in charge of. To be successful, they just need to know how to effectively utilize their staff of experts.

This goes great with the words of Epictetus “It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.” The instant the thought that "I already know about that" crosses my mind it's a trigger, I stop right then and there, and I listen up carefully.

In my previous corporate life, this was an expensive and difficult thing to learn and I couldn’t agree more. It’s easy to to let yourself think the leader (on the shop floor or the board room) should have all the answers, when in reality.. they don’t. The answers come from the whole team finding the answers. And often, the leader really had nothing to do with it other than assembling a good team to be able, and allowing them, to do just that. Then sitting back, listening, absorbing, and creating a good plan, while putting your ego aside. I’ve been watching the videos, read their book in 2018, and have to say they are spot on. I wish I’d had their book 30 years ago..

The hardest part about dealing with stubborn leaders or stubborn people is that they'd rather fail than give up their beliefs. So might as well do what they say as soon as possible to show them they're wrong because disagreeing with them is pointless

Negative. It's communication. Communication has many facets. It has a physical component, written, spoken etc. Communication is also demeanor, facial expression, tone, timing, clarity of message. Humility is couched in good communication skills. If you are a good communicator, by default you are humble. If you are simply humble, you could be a push over. Think about communication as a complex, multi-faceted skill set.

A not so good communicator could become better if they are humble and possess humility. Going back to being able to self assess and improve. I do see your point and somewhat agree with it though
