One of the biggest reasons why I like the NEC handbook is the table of contents before each article. It is a real time saver to find exactly what you are looking for in the article, something not available on the paperback version. If your testing facility allows the handbook for the electrical exam, take it! It will save you precious minutes on your test.

Yes handbook every time I have the 2021 and it’s good. It could be still improved however with even more diagrams and notes that being said the book gets larger but willing to live with it if it makes the job easier.
