Or ... there were 2 sabbaths that week with the high sabbath of Passover being called a Sabbath too during that time period, and Jesus was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights. It makes a lot more sense.

May I please clear some things up? In Jonah 2, there is no place that says Jonah was sleeping as he was being digested in the belly of the fish along with the water and seaweed wrapped around his him. Instead, Jonah tells what he was praying, and when he chooses offer thanksgiving, honor his vow, and do what God told him to do, God had the fish sphew him up on the shore of Nineveh. So far as how many days Jesus was in the deepest pit in the belly of the earth separated from the Father, it was three days and three nights. In Matthew 26:1-5, we see that Jesus tells his disciples ,"After two days is Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up and crucified." (v. 2) The next three verses are the plans the religious leaders are making to kill Him. In verse 5, they decide to wait until 'after the feast, so there won't be an uproar among the people in Jerusalem to celebrate Passover. So there were two Sabbaths that week. Jesus is our Passover Lamb who was sacrificed one time for all time for all people. Caiaphas, the high priest that year, means to say one thing - it is advantageous for one man to die, than the whole nation perish- actually prophesied that Jesus would die for the whole nation and those far off, the Gentiles, too. Therefore, Jesus did just what He said He would do: Spent three days and three nights in the belly of the earth before the power of the Spirit of God raised Him up.

God's Word is always TRUTH. If you don't see it, there are only two possibilities. It could be Lucifer, the fallen and deceptive angel of light with his many lies, which he is the father of. Or your eyes aren't opened, and you aren't looking hard enough. Isaiah 55:9,11.

You have to ask: In what way is Jonah being fulfilled? I'm pretty sure it says by going to the belly of the Earth.

Because in Judaism a day isn’t always a whole day- the way they spoke was different you can’t add it up like you would with todays word. A day may only be a couple hours in there speak

But where is the third night in third day? So it never got fulfilled?

It's idiomatic speech. In the Hebrew accounting of time, not only was the day from sundown to sundown, but any portion of the day could be considered the whole day. Evidence to show that this is idiomatic is found in the book of Esther. She declares a fast for "three days and three nights" and that afterward she will go to the king; it then reports that she went to the king on the third day. Likewise, Christ said He would rise after three days and three nights, and twelve out of the fifteen references in Scripture states that He rose on the third day. This is simply a difference in how we count time compared to how the people He spoke to counted time. Historical context matters. Hope this helps.

Gee. It’s almost as though it’s not fact checked before hand. Isn’t gymnastics tiring?

Or the easiest and most logical explanation... the whole thing is just made up
