I like that about him. But having your crimes attributed to an alias means you get to keep your personal record relatively clean while still taking having the world know about your greatest heists and giving you the credit. The Grey Cowl is just the god-level version of that.

Lorewise I'd argue that the wabbajack and mehrunes razor could also be as strong as any of those, even more. Wabbajack is pretty random item, it's not known about it's upper limits but we can believe that it is capable of pretty screwed up things, even against deadric princes, just, random things. And mehrunes razor is technically the strongest weapon in the lore, being capable of killing anyone by any small cut because mehrunes dagon himself claims the souls of those struck by it.

Can Wabbajack make you immortal? There are times it does seem to have no effect. This got me thinking technically is your character already immortal? What is the longest amount of time you can advance the in game clock? If you have your character wait enough could you advance thousands of years? Granted you can still die from physical trauma, but will you ever die from old age in the game?

I hated how weak the artifacts were in Skyrim. Even as Dovahkin, I should not be able to make/enchant common weapons/armor better then such precious goodies. I'd have to say Wabbajack cause you got to kill what's his face with it in Oblivion.

It was really disappointing to find out that the best gear could only be crafted by hours of tedious, painstaking hours of grinding both levels and for materials. They focused way too heavily on the crafting system IMO. The only real use in going into dungeons besides quests is for gold and materials to craft with. Any unique weapons or pieces of armor are essentially just for decorating your houses with. The Rueful Axe looked so cool but I was so pissed when I realized it was hardly better than the dwarven warhammer I was using at the time. I found that no matter my build, my current gear or gear I'd find/craft would outclass whatever artifact I found. The Oghma infinium was somewhat useful, although it really didn't do much when I was grinding specific skills. The rest are gathering dust in random chests and weapon racks.

True. It's much better to sacrifice something less useful like the masque of clavicus vile, the skull of corruption or any weapons that doesn't work with your chosen skills. Azura's star, the skeleton key, the two rings and the ogma infinium are really the only daedric artefacts worth keeping in Oblivion. Everything else can be achieved or exceeded easily by enchanting vanilla equipment.

+EpicFace 640 It is possible and it is the result of using a Fortify Restoration potion. As enchantments are tagged as "restoration spells" they are affected by the Fortify Restoration potion. This allows the player to create a loop where they keep making stronger and stronger Fortify Alchemy Gear till they hit a godlike number. This exploit is commonly referred to the Restoration Loop.

I don't know why the black books were dismissed because they were hard to obtain. Without being able to transcend dimensions, the skeleton key would be useful but not as powerful as you suggested, yet this seems infinitely harder to obtain than climbing a tower to receive the black books. I did enjoy the video though, it must have taken a while to check up all that lore so fair play for that.

Little correction: if I remember correctly, any daedric artefact can be used to open a portal to Mankar Cameron's Paradise. Azura's star is just mentioned in a book in cloud ruler temple.

Martin Septim did not need Azura's Star, but any daedric artifact as a key element in opening the Mancar Cameron's realm. If you didn't have any daedric item in your inventory at the time of the main quest, it would give you an another quest to acquire the nearest artifact, the Azura's Star.

here's my personal experience with the gray cowl: I was a bit of a hoarder when I played oblivion and I didn't store stuff even though I had several safe places to do so, it got so bad that I had become reliant on the blessing of talos from the Knights of the Nine expansion and even that wasn't enough so I'd always be wearing the cowl for it's feather effect and to avoid the annoyance that came with that I stayed in the Shivering Isles(fitting when you think about it for less than a second).

In oblivion I first got to be the archmage which let me enchant armor. I used this with the help of azuras star, to create 5 armor pieces with each one having 20% chameleon, making me completely invisible to anyone. I then went on to get the skeleton key in his easy quest making the thieves guild as easy as it can be. By the end I was the invisible grey fox with a key to every door and powerful magic. The good old times

Glad to see my favorite (the cowl) recognized as a top contender. The ultimate thieves guild quest in Oblivion is by far the best part of the game, back when Elder Scrolls were a big deal and they didn't just pass 'em out to any ol' wandering protagonist. The impression I got from Skyrim dialogue was that the Skeleton Key could, depending on use, potentially unlock anything, as in ANYTHING, not just your personal potential. That means unlock new possibilities, new realities, and new outcomes in the flow of causality. The issue is more theoretically keeping the Black Books than actually obtaining them. If they drive you mad (which they don't get a chance to through any in game mechanics) then... you become a beach ball tossed between H. Mora and Sheogorath. My favorite was always the Gray Cowl for the main reasons mentioned in the video. Super sad it didn't make it into Skyrim.

Technically speaking, his sword is a daedric artifact, as you can use it in Oblivion after defeating him at the end of the Shivering Isles questline. Beyond that, however, Fredhenry's probably right. No one really knows of Jyggalag, thank to the curse that created Sheogorath, so it's unlikely he's created any other artifacts.

Azura’s star is more powerful than you give it credit for. Sure, late-game soul gems are easy to come by, but that’s quite tedious and in a difficult fight, you might find your extra soul gems simply weren’t enough. You can soul trap an enemy, kill them with a powerful enchanted item, and refill that same weapon with it again and again. Don’t have to conserve the charge for stronger enemies, which is incredibly useful

I think the oghma infinium or the black books are the most powerful, sure in game it only gives you 5 points to warrior, thief or mage skills but you could use that to raise all your mage skille from 95 to 100 making you a master of the arcane arts or a master warrior/thief or maybe the skeleton key is best but i nocturnal would kill you and get it back eventually or have her nightingales do it
