Fun fact about the rack: the rack wasn’t a form of execution, it was a form of torture. You can survive but your arms and legs would be dislocated and you would die from the injuries, being tortured again or starvation if no one feed you.

The thing that confused me most about people picking brazen bull over the rack was that at least with the rack you can (futilely) fight it somewhat. Like, I'd give them binds every bit of strength I can muster, and by the end I'm so exhausted that it's (maybe?) speeding the process up. But with the brazen bull, it's not just physical torture but psychological torture as well. You're in a tight space, you know what's coming but can't do anything to prevent it, and there's probably a good minute or two of apprehension as the bull heats up. The bull is worse in every way I can think of.

@@dragonmage372 But with the rack, how long you are in pain is entirely in the hands of the executors/ torturers, they can drag it out as much as they want, and you would be living with the pain of limbs dislocated or even ripped off. But you still wouldn't die until a while after to blood loss, injuries or starvation, unless of course the executors mercy kill you. In the bull you would be in extreme pain too ofc and be burned head to toe until death but that still seems better rn. Maybe I'm overestimating how quickly the bull would kill you, but I still feel that at least when you enter the bull you know you aren't coming out alive. That finality helps imo and gives you something to come to terms with.Whereas in the rack you are entirely at the mercy of those killing you who have complete control of exactly how much you suffer and in what way.

First question: If I chose to die last that's technically immortality cause my great great great great great grandkids from my cousins would still count as family. Second question: Slowly drift through space as it didn't necessarily say that I couldn't be found like the one at sea and most space suits have a radio meaning I could be saved and could be saved is alot better than guaranteed death. Third question: The bull has a chance of knocking you out at higher temperatures meaning you wont be feeling it while the rack your conscious the entire time. Fourth question: I already go through C but I desire A but I mainly desire just staying as a human for as long as possible.

First Question: if I die last, just like the person above me says, it’s practically immortality. Second Question: If I had no chance to survive, the Prison Cell would be the most comfortable. There’s going to be a lot of pain if I was drifting in sea, such as animals or sun burns and other problems with the salt water. The space option would also just be terrifying, left to your thoughts listening to nothing but you’re own breath and heartbeats, knowing you only have hours to live. It would be the quickest, but most scariest. Third Option: Both seems terrifying, but I rather not be a furry so rack it is. Fourth Question: I would want nothing. I’d probably go to hell, but realistically I wouldn’t know what to do in heaven. Endless paradise just seems unnatural, especially with some of the hobbies I have (I’m not that knowledgeable in Christianity). Reincarnation sounds like a pain, almost like a infinite death loop from JJBA. Having nothing is quick and simple.

A full oxygen tank is, I *assume*, at least a few dozens of minutes, and maybe up to an hour or more. Even if some gases from the fire got in, it still should’ve been ventilated enough because the bull, although not mentioned in the video, was designed in that shape because there was a system that converted the screams of the victim inside into the lovely sound of the animal it represents. Sound needs air to be produced.

4:35 iirc it was 4th degree burns where your pain receptors are gone and you don't feel pain on the burn sites anymore, i read some story about a guy dropping a small, red hot piece of metal on his shoe, it melted through the shoe, then through the foot, the guy felt pain for only a short moment before he stopped feeling pain and just went "that probably isn't a good sign though". From what i've heard, 3rd degree burns also hurt less than 2nd degree burns, even though 3rd degree burns are more damaging, and this is because the pain receptors of the burn area *have started* to go.

4:45 Okay so. As someone that would prefer the Bull of Philaris. Stretching is nice at surface level but also. You would feel every second of being stretched until it ripped you in half, which is when you might die, if that kills you instantly. You may just have 15 seconds until you bleed out with your guts everywhere. However! With the bull you’re burned. You’re literally cooked. Sure it sucks but it’s a quicker death and it’s more painful. But! The stretching is less painful for significantly longer, it takes longer to stretch you in half. With the bull you will be really hot and in a lot of pain for a couple minutes until it burns through your nerves and it feels like nothing. The stretching will be immense pain for like 30 minutes. The bull will be unimaginable pain for like 2-5 minutes. Then it’s over and you’re still roasting but you can’t actually feel it so 🤷‍♂️
