It's an RPG Maker game. They all get lost in the shuffle because most of them are poor quality. This one is a pretty good example of that.

While it's hard to tell with all of these custom resources, given that I reckognize the title screen music from one of the RPG Maker MV DLCs, I would bet it's the MV engine. The RTP sound effects aren't always accurate since Enterbrain loves to reuse them for future RPG Maker engines. Would fit with the SD chibi-style that is common starting with VX and the "not-quite-fluidity" of the MV if one doesn't use JavaScript plugins that stabilize and optimize the framerate.

The game is just a little rough around the edges. If it had more dialogue, the coins were displayed in a more ergonomic way (you shouldn't have to press pause and then click coins or not have them displayed before spending them), and the combat was a bit more involved (and not kick you out when you get hit), perhaps this game would be something I'd actually want a full let's play of.

I feel like this was... Poorly translated? That's what would make the most sense to me. It's not quite the blunt force trauma of a machine translation, but boy is it close. I wonder if it'd be more coherent if it was written more clearly (translation or otherwise) or if the underlying concept is still just too... Not exactly well assembled... To create a proper cohesive plot or... Concept... Or... Something...

A game made by a pervert with more audio-visual design sense than game design sense. Good pixel art is infamously difficult, and the pixel art on display here is so good that you forget that you are even *looking* at pixel art when seeing it in motion. Furthermore, each of the music tracks match the tone of the setting perfectly. If this [Google search] roet teamed up with somebody that knows how to actually make a good game, I dare say they'd be unstoppable.
