Can't beat Mongolian throat singing heavy metal, the mixture of Mongol culture and modern music styles is mesmerizing.

I love Mongolian throat singing and heavy metal as a bonus. These guys are awesome! You seemed to get into the music. I love when people have an open mind to try something different.

I discovered The Hu online during covid. Check out Yuve Yuve Yu. Love to see people keeping their ancient cultural traditions alive by bringing them into the modern world. Some of their videos on youtube have English subtitles, couldn't tell if this one did, but it's even better when you know what they're saying. I felt the similarities to Native American culture, too.

That was everything I was going to say except definitely seek out the subtitled versions.

That was Mongolian heavy metal. They incorporate modern instruments with traditional Mongolian instruments . They also do traditional Mongolian throat singing ( that sorta whistling sound) they are able to hit 2 notes at the same time. They use motorcycles because Mongolians traditionally were horse people and bikes are modern horses. Genghis Khan was a Mongolian.

Heilung is another good group to check out. I love their live version of "krigsgalder". It taps into something deep and primal

Along the same lines, I’d recommend “Altay”, which is a collaboration between Ummet Ozcan and Otyken. Ummet is a Dutch DJ, producer, singer, and musician. Otyken (pronounced “oh-too-ken”) is a group comprised of indigenous Siberians from multiple tribes, with a goal of preserving their native languages by combining traditional song with modern instruments and writing. Both are worth digging into more.

The Womans Song in cooperation with Kate Bush is also excellent. This song is indeed a Mongolian battle song. The lyrics are about Djengis Khan and the Golden Horde.

Song of Women is a collab with Lzzy Hale, no Kate Bush in that song.

I think you might like these classic/hard rock songs. You might consider them. Haven't seen anyone on KZbin react to them but somebody should. Legs Diamond- Stage Fright, Rat Race, Deadly Dancer, Waiting, Satin Peacock. Mother's Finest- Rain, Mickey's Monkey. Dwight Twilley Band- I'm On Fire. Chris Duarte- My Way Down. Buddy Guy- Damn Right I Got The Blues, Midnight Train. Stillwater- Mindbender.

your loss, its something very unique and interesting, very cool blend of these peoples ancient culture mixed with modern music. Not something I would listen to on a playlist or anything, but definitely a neat thing to hear once.

Once is more than enough. I can show my grand kids all of JM's videos with no worries of what they will see and hear. This is one I never want them to see. I would never want my family dating one of those guys. I listened to the first 90 seconds, and the last 30 seconds, and JM's comments knowing what was left was not anything I ever want to hear again. It sounds evil and mean and the appearance of the fellas does nothing to make it seem less threatening. The lyrics are typical gang banger adolescent us against them attitude. It's like they are saying.... Look at us, don't we look tough with our black leather and skulls and silly hair cuts, throw in some fire to make the image complete. Makes me think about the attitudes young and insecure 13 years old's have. It's a primal cultural thing. I prefer real "Music"@@canadiangopher4443
