Hi Dr.Taufiq, thanks for uploading this video. My mother 65 years old is having critical OA, within just a span of 4 years her cartilage was fully damaged. And she's being suggested a KNR anytime soon. To keep her worries away, I showed her this video and she is now totally agreeing to get the surgery done through the Air Force command hospital in Bangalore. There is another query which I have to put in, my Mom is weighing 80/85 kgs now which increased after her gall bladder removal surgery. So what are consequences she will be facing in the next few months or years after the KNR surgery. She's worried if she would gain even more weight after the surgery. Or she should focus on diet right now itself. Thanks upfront

Welcome Mr Rajini, There is no reason why weight would increase after TKR surgery. If anything, it may reduce as walking and mobility improves. All the best.

Last year February me stairs se pair slip hone ke karn railing edge knee ke center me lga after that 3times pair slip kiya or knee ke side me same point pr hi hurt hua. Last year September se maine morning walk Krna start Kiya to mere knee me pain start hua jha se knee injured hua tha same point se(before morning walk starting koi pain nhi tha). Dear Mr Rao, 100kg body weight should be fine and not affect the life of latest prosthesis and technique that we use. Moreover, due to bad knees she would not be walking which will in turn increase the weight more. That vicious cycle needs to be broken by making the knees better.

@@taufiqpanjwani Doctor Sb, my mother is 59 year old female known case of hypertension and mild case of anxiety, on ACE inhibitor and beta blocker and low dose SSRI. She is a known case of osteoarthritis since 2014, have gone through multiple treatments that included intra articular steroid and hyaluronic acid injections, last taken in 2017, but eventually they were stopped because they were not providing any relief. The patient is around 100kg, unable to lose weight because she can not walk much, no matter how much she controls her diet. We have shown to all orthopedic surgeons in Dehradun and Delhi but nothing much has been done. Please let us know how we can proceed and give your number to discuss this matter
