I am still a newer player and I am finally at the point where I want to start trying different stability discs. This video is great at showing the practice I need to put in to understand my discs more! Thank you.

I started with 10 discs so I learned how to fill the gaps with Hyzer/Anhyzer. I live in Wellington NZ so there's always a gentle breeze (ok our windiest year recorded 233 days Gale force & up) so I prefer to throw flat with stable to under stable discs. Throwing in wind gives you a few interesting insights... 1: You CAN throw a flippy disc into a strong headwind... Just expect it to pay off 1 in a ... well once in a lot of runaways... Just use a LOT of Hyzer... 2: 'Do not go gentle into that good night..." but when its a headwind... GO GENTLE... (or at least Throw gentle)... and keep it low... 3: For cross-winds, put the wind to your back and throw unstable. (hopefully you have a forehand and backhand.. I don't have a forehand but still use it to go left with wind behind me (RHFH)) (I somehow managed to get my Innova Gold Diamond 330+ ft on a slight downhill (maybe -5ft across that distance) My max drivers on flat is 330ft (a 100m Rugby field touch to touch line) 4: for overhead rollers 3 still applies, you have the top into the wind and tipping away from the wind (aiming slightly upwind)... seems odd but try it,, Over-stable disc, land close or it will land flat... 5: Harder the tailwind, flippier the disc. Harder the headwind, more over stable (I have a "broken" disc that I can throw Anhyzer into 40kph winds and it will always pull out.. Hilarious, like a 0,4+ 6: Putting in a tail wind... you CAN, throw flat.. but nose up and aim to overshoot and the disc gets shot down, and if you miss.. it lands hard nearby... 7: Putting in a cross-wind with a flippy putter works very similar to (3:) 8: Overhead RHFH 1pm rollers are great downwind.

@@ogdiscgolfer Unfortunately in person I talk just as much. Coming from a background of casual frisbee throwing at lunch circa 2k, I also have a throw no one mentions.. but is very handy... (Basically a frisbee distance throw). RHBH, standing open to the target (feet at about 2.40pm)... straight arm throw (though pocket works once your a competent thrower)... Staring at the target, yeet it out to the right on a 30+deg hyzer for a smooth arc... With the right disc (I use a scorch) the disc doesn't turn/fade in flight and is quite easy to hit in line with where your looking.. (I often bullseye peoples bags walking back from a practice basket...) Great for targeting baskets you can see through an impenetrable object (Tree/hedge etc) Less wind I can use higher angles and toombstone the disc if its wet. Only issue.. I forget when it's dry/firm, that there isn't someone at the other end catching the disc.. and forget to aim right to take in skip overshooting. c... told u I talk too much.

Understanding angle control and how to utilize the natural flip of the disk in order to shape shots is core to having a good overall game. Drive, Approach, Putt. I never realized how important the approach really is. Played a tourney last weekend...and can single out 4 different shots where this applied and led directly to missed birdie opportunities. It's one thing to miss putts, but 4 strokes in the mid game could be the difference between winning and missing cash.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! Because I've done the exact same thing. Those approach shots can make or break a round and our spirits so many times. We know how important putting is but we tend to overlook the approach. I can totally feel the pain of those for missed approaches. Thanks so much for taking time to comment.
