Being a former Oregon resident Colorado you have just made a huge mistake. I have witnessed first hand the the result of the return of the wolf. In NE Oregon the deer herds will never recover. The wolves here were never as large as the ones being released from northern latitudes.

Why doesn’t those papers pushers ask the farmers what they think about the wolves being brought back in to kill and feed on their livestock? The livestock that American depend on for their food. They should take a few and release them where all these papers pushers live at. Let’s see what they have to think whenever those wolves start eating their pet dogs and cats. Also children are not safe either from a pack of wolves.

What makes us so divine as human beings that we have the right to cause such devastating effects of extinction? Have they no right to share this planet & deserve to live free of the threat of exploitation merciless, hunting including trophy hunting!! I have loved all non-human creatures allmy entire life and it is heartbreaking to see the devastation that results in overhunting. Should I hope that there r conservation effortss & Colorado voters that r determined in saving these wolves & other wildlife as well I maintain a measure of hope that these efforts to stop killing animals will someday be the RULE & not the exception throughout this planet. Is it NOT their RIGHT to live without the threat of death and extinction? Once a species is gone it is gone forever & that is truly devastating.
@a11aaa11a Жыл бұрын
No, animals are constantly under threat of extinction from other animals, that's how it's always been. We shouldn't over-hunt or harm habitats, but we also shouldn't pretend that species have the "right" to just exist no matter what.
@benito12ify Жыл бұрын
Over the past 75 years hunters have done more to help increase wildlife populations than any non-hunting conservation group. Almost every species that has a hunting season placed upon them, have seen their numbers increase. Hunters generally have much more of an understanding of wildlife than non-hunters. Case in point, your celebration of the the wolf release (and your subsequent lecture anti-hunting lecture), without recognizing that the release of wolves will greatly, greatly decrease many forms of wildlife. In other words, hunters understand that nothing lives in a vacuum, non hunters however, have trouble with this concept.

Yes, understanding the issue. One must nonetheless consider: Conflicts over stakeholders, predator and prey vs Conflicts over livestock. Livestock; A commodity bought, sold, traded, bred. Yes and some are even pets. In the conversation; Stakeholders = money to be had. This 'conflict' seems more of an issue of monetary $value$. Keeping in mind: $2 million in federal conservation funds-taxpayers contributions-to help 'mitigate' the 'conflict' between livestock and wolves. Money makes everything better?? Just recently a Nature Communications team compiled a database of more than 2,000 species that have fallen victim to free-ranging domestic cats--And this has been going on for years!--Is there no value in 2,000 species having predator and prey 'conflict'? Is there no outright 'stakeholder' (monetary) $value$. No money to be had? Just as important: Also reported is the global 'loss' of wildlife being "significant and alarming". Even more than previously thought. Yet again victims of free-ranging domestic cats are not mentioned? Global 'loss' of wildlife. Predator and prey vs Conflicts? Is it that there is no stakeholder (monetary) $value$. No money to be had? One must ask: With so much loss, where is the outcry? Where is the federal funding? Where is the concern? Where are the laws? One's pet can kill unabated and the environment made toxic, yet today as in the past; a natural predator must be mitigated, killed and/or expelled at any cost? Is it simply about the money and stakeholder $value$?
