I am also half Tajik and half Uzbek. I wouldn't call Uzbeks and Tajiks different races (you are not product of interracial marriage) since they are very genetically intermixed. Cultures are very similar too. Only difference is language which also has a lot of common words. There is clear distinction between Uzbeks/Tajiks and Kyrgyzs in terms of how they look but I usually have hard time distinguishing between Uzbeks and Tajiks unless they start speaking.

Tajiks are not threatened or harmed here but in tajikistan, uzbeks are discriminated more and I have heard that they didn't even allow to sing in Uzbek. Gisyos, yes there is racism in TJK in some sense. But you have to consider it in a general sense concerning turkic neighbors. I would say it is a reaction to action. You know about so-called "Turanic" ideas. The Tajik indigenous population in Bukhara, Samarkand, and Fergana Valley is being cut off from their cultural roots. They are not allowed to study in their mother tongue and are forcefully by intention turkified by local authorities. Now imagine you have this bunch of countries fueled by imperialistic ideas from Turkey about one nation on the land where they are not indigenous. They rewrite history, appropriate history, and scientists of Tajiks. I am not happy with that but what we can do?

Yes, that is very sad that outsiders want to put Uzbeks and Tajiks and other central asians against each other. In fact they are all brothers. Even, in Turkey, they are millions of Kurds and Alavites and Arabs. This Pan-turkic western imprialist is not even good for Turkey, it divides its people and imposes so many security issues. What about saying all the Turkic speaking and Iranic speaking people are brothers. Even they are brothers with Arabs. It was the case before 19th centuray or even 20th century that western government attempted to divide and conqure us. The Pan-turkic and Pan-Arabic idealogy was the main reason of the fall of ottomons.
