The Cayman is great for date night. Mine is Speed Yellow and one time at an NBA game the parking guy sent me up to the VIP parking up front lol. I was like OK but it only cost $24k but I'll take it...

Its been a blast having a cayman as a DD. I even take it for a spin on a day where i really have nowhere to go. Driving on 3rd gear on the highway is super fun. 😂

I just leased a new Boxster as my daily driver. I love it. But I live and drive in Atlanta traffic, so I went for the PDK, no regrets. - and I got the 18" wheels.

Keep the 17s they look stylish... little small but it’s an awesome design

Dude. Traverse City native here. You HAVE to take M119 from Harbor Springs up toward Mackinaw City. And if you ever get up to the UP you MUST drive the snot out of your Cayman on H58.

My current daily is one of the least inspired cars on the planet, a Cadillac XTS. My “fun car” is a Jeep. I miss being able to have fun on the roads and have considered a Cayman a couple of times. Found your videos a while back and am glad to see you’re still posting. Wish it was more frequent, but I’m sure you’re a busy guy and video making can be time consuming. Great content though. Your videos are probably why I’ll end up with a Cayman instead of a Boxter to an M or AMG car. All that said, I think it’s about time we see the driving skills! Take that monster to an autocross and drive it like it was built to be driven.

I owned a Cayman S, lowered 20mm, since April this year. To some exrent thanks to this channel. It's really an excellent entry-level Porsche and a very patient and forgiving daily driver. Used it for really long roadtrips likewise daily work-commuting and picking up my girl at the airport with all her luggage. It is really a versatile car. Service/maintenance-costs is a bit in the higher range though but rewarding when you drive it.

I couldn't imagine my 987 S being my only car. The thing sits in the garage for weeks at a time in between projects. driving it every day? I have white corbo seats inside to match the Carrara white paint that looks fantastic but the bolstering and padding is not DD, they are track seats. Even if I put the original seats back and I wouldn't want to drive the thing everyday to work and back. you know, when you put in a hard day, the last thing you should put up with is a sports car. it is more reasonable to relax and drive home in comfort. The sports car is for weekends. but that's just my opinion. I drove a manual car everyday for 5 years and will never do that again. If I for some strange reason had to drive a Cayman everyday, it would have to be an automatic.

18x9 front and 18x10 rear wheels and keeping your 17s for snow tires might be a thing.
@Neptunianist5 жыл бұрын
I always keep well back from any large vehicle when driving, just in case there's risk of a stone chip, but didn't consider the risk of being hit by actual items from the car in front itself. That was unfortunate but congratulations on the new job - looks like you'll need it to pay for the replacement windscreen.

Get yourself a winter beater and sell it in the spring. Please don’t drive the Cayman in Michigan winter.
@mistermarkdavis5 жыл бұрын
manual crosstrek is a great fun winter beater
@walterstrahota29565 жыл бұрын
If you can afford it fine, but I’m thinking of something cheaper. I lived in Wisconsin for many years and I know the toll that winter takes on a vehicle. I know it’s no fun but a winter beater is the way to go.

Big wheels aren't just for looks. they provide a more direct steering feel. I think it's great that you like the car you have. It's your ride don't listen to people telling you what to do to your car.

Get that windshield fixed right away and your insurance should cover the repair completely but if the windshield cracks then its all on you....dont wait on windshield repair asap..call them and safety lite comes to you to fix the windshield and insurance should cover the little nick..your cayman rocks and use it everyday
@RoyalFizzbin5 жыл бұрын
I agree regarding the wheels. Keep the 17s, especially living in an area with snow. Even if you had a winter set, come spring, when pavement is cracking and cavernous potholes are opening all over place due to the temperature change, you will appreciate, those thick sidewalks. I just “down”graded my Fiesta ST from 205/40/17 to 205/50/16, and I have driven over pavement that would’ve bent wheels otherwise.

Ive been dd my CS since last September and its been great even through winter. I haven't driven my S class, mustang, or motorcycle since I drove it off the lot. Very solid car even after the 25k miles I've put on it in the last 10 months. Better Hwy mileage than my girl's 2018 chevy malibu.

Hi I enjoy your postings. Question--On the standard Porsche Cayman 2007 radio, is it possible to play the music on your phone thru the speaker system? Many thanks.
@Mechonomist5 жыл бұрын
Not directly. I use a radio adapter that plugs into my phone and plays through the car speaks over a radio frequency.
@lucasclift31965 жыл бұрын
Love the car, coming from an ex-944 owner I'm really looking at the Cayman rather than the 911 here lately! Edit: Keep the wheels!! What kind of mileage are you getting even with spirited driving?
@Mechonomist5 жыл бұрын
Right now I'm showing 24.5mpg average. Probably about 60/40 highway/city split. And I'm not a very efficient driver haha.

Idk, I'd add on another beater type car. I wouldn't want to drive the Porsche all the time, such as a 2 minute trip to the store or to the badlands. Keep up these well though out, informative videos on the Porsche. I am wondering, what do you think about after market windshield? You gonna replace with aftermarket or factory shield?
