I had two ticks buried in me. Got them out early. Never had a rash. Even so I get symptoms like this every so often. The really disturbing thing is that doctors have always discouraged me from getting tested. They always say it's a "medical rabbit hole" not worth exploring. Way too expensive. This disease is horrible, so why are medical professionals so unwilling to test for it?

I was diagnosed and treated in New Jersey in 1989. Even though it was epidemic in the area, I had been going to Dr's for 18 months, at least 3 Dr.s with all of the symptoms before I was diagnosed. A couple months of Doxycycline and 5 weeks of IV Rocephen later I was much sicker and and unable to work full-time time. The disease is progressive. It causes all kinds of random pain. Add a broken tailbone, 3 herniated discs and injuries all over from fighting off a rapist and I'm always in dibilitating pain. It took 30 years for my SSD benefit to reach half of my 1989 salary. I'm blessed that my son rents me a travel trailer in his yard or I would be in a shelter. Lyme Disease stole my life.

I’ve been at this for 12 years now. Up and down. These past few months, I’ve hit an all-time low. There’s so much. Words don’t do it justice. My psyche is breaking. I think about self-harm every day, all day. I’ve tried so many things. It’s hard to function in society and I don’t really have anyone to rely on. Trying to get better costs money and there’s no promise that anything you try will work in the long run. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars, just to keep breathing, right? To suffer. Good moments are so fleeting. I’m so forgetful. I forget why I keep living. I hate to be so negative. I’m sorry. I know I’m not alone in this. I pray you all keep the strength and sanity, huh? Myself, I’m finding it really difficult to hold on. I’ve been having these mental breakdowns. I really feel crazy, some days. Crying, screaming, hurting myself, laughing like I’m psychotic. How can this be real, I ask. Enough is never enough. And, yeah, most people don’t care. They don’t see that I’m sick. And, you know, healthy people, when they have a rough day, they can just like... go eat a pizza or ice cream, right? Comfort food. My GI system is so fucked up, I eat about a dozen different food items... all the time, green veggies and lean meats. If I eat anything else, I get deathly ill. It’s candida/mold or something. I’d ask for a hug, but... honestly, they don’t even help. I’m so detached from everything and everyone. I wish I would die, really. This is hell. And people talk about God. Hahahahahah....

I had Lyme when I was 10 and wasn’t treated until my legs started losing function. One doctor said it was psychosomatic, but then I tested positive for Lyme. I thought I was cured of it, but last year, I had the rash come back. After antibiotics, it disappeared, and then came back on the opposite arm! I was slurring words, losing weight, feeling cognitively slower, exhausted. Took about two weeks for the symptoms to leave. But there was no possibility of reinfection. There needs to be more research because I want to know if it’ll keep coming back like that and effecting me at random times throughout my life. I’m lucky that my symptoms clear up quickly after treatment but I always live in fear whenever I have a bug bite and I don’t remember being bit (because I think it might grow to a bullseye). I got Lyme disease recently from something that happened a few years ago. I was getting ready for bed with my sister and we were in the bathroom when she said, “why do you have a raspberry in your neck?” I was really confused, so when I tried to pull it out, I thought I was pulling out my skin. I went to Mom and she said it was a tick, so she ripped it out.

I have continuous headaches everyday, for a year straight now, anxiety, panic attacks, i constantly feel numb, dizzy in all my body, i feel like I'm about to faint every time even tho i Don't, i can barely stand still, i have glasses but my eyes getting worse, out of nowhere my eyes gets blurry for no reasons, my muscles have impulses, like my shoulder, eye, finger and so on. I feel my arms, fingers and sometimes legs tingling. I'm losing so much weight and I'm eating as much as i can lately. I get panic attacks over the fact i can't feel my head, it feels empty sometimes and I get confused, i feel this emptiness in all my body. I have insomnia for a couple of months, cause i felt like dying while falling asleep so i couldn't, like i felt still that emptiness as i closed my eyes and i could breathe sometimes, that would wake me up in the middle of the night and give me anxiety/panic attacks. Could these be lyme symptoms? And sorry for bad English, I'm Italian, i hope someone can help me out. Cause I'm literally going insane.

Might i had to give more information, my whole face hurts with headache, my years, teeth, nose, jaw etc. Also i feel disoriented when i walk and so on. I don't know if its MS or lyme disease, i have a neurological visit soon but im not sure it will diagnose one of these, or at least MS which sometimes Lyme disease its mistaken for MS in teens and stuff. So I'm super anxious cause they have similar symptoms. Pls someone who knows more about it, reply to this, i need help and answers, it's difficult in Italy to find a good doctor who knows bout lyme but point is i dont remember being bitten or having a bulleye bit and stuff. But i remember having a tick on my leg once, it was walking over it tho but i didn't feel the bite and i don't think i had flu or something.

I have been a Chiropractor and Clinical Nutritionist for 35 years. I also had a terrible case of Lyme Disease for over 15 years before it was properly diagnosed. Initially, I took heavy doses of antibiotics. I did that at a much higher dose and for a much longer time than is recommended. It did absolutely nothing. Next, I used all of my clinical resources, contacts, and knowledge to treat the disease in every possible natural way. It did very little for me. Finally, in desperation, I started taking 1 salt tablet every waking hour. Within 5 days I was nearly symptom-free for the first time in 2 decades. And years later, I am still symptom-free. A bottle of salt tablets will cost you under $15 at any pharmacy. You do not need a prescription. But you may want to be monitored by a physician if you have salt-related blood pressure issues.

Thanks so much for sharing this info..I knew there was something wrong with me when I was 13.. multiple doctors told me it was puberty.. I was made to feel lazy and crazy.. so I just did the best I could.. after I had my son I started having seizures.. then they said maybe I had brain cancer.. I lost it and became addicted to opiates.. I thought I was dying and leaving my baby without a mom.. then 6 months later they said I probably didn't have cancer because there was minimal change.. it should have been a miracle I wasn't dying.. but I was addicted and still had this mystery health problem.. long story short I was finally diagnosed almost 15 years after my infection.. and the answer was so unsatisfactory.. you had a Lyme disease infection, it's too late to do anything and now you're left with permanent scaring/ cysts in your brain.. I've been clean for 2 years but the damage is done.. not just from Lyme disease but from shooting up for years, I don't believe I would have developed an addiction without the crisis caused by undiagnosed Lyme disease. I can't work full time, I can't get covered by disability.. so yeah.. Lyme disease has greatly diminished my quality of life.. I try to stay positive and remind myself I've overcome alot.. but man its pretty hard some days

Doxycycline only helps in the early stage but not for chronic lyme and iv antibiotics like cerfuroxime are quite good but didn't cure the disease most of the time.

Yes, they do vary. Lyme disease may cause flu-like symptoms If left untreated, it may attack many tissues -- including the heart and nervous system -- and trigger an immune response that can lead to Lyme arthritis. These were the symptoms I experienced until I was introduced to natural holistic medicine by Dr Erayo on KZbin and I was able to get rid of it permanently.

Question guys please help. A tick bite me but I strongly believe that the head or some body part is still inside the skin. I went to the ER twice but I don’t think they removed it cleanly, you know how the ER doctor behaves they tend to not care at all. But they gave me medication right away so that I don’t have the Lyme disease. Question is should I go to the doctor again to check if there’s anything left behind

I have it too, it sucks! When I first got it I got the flu symptoms and a rash that literally spread over my body then I got tinnitus from it that I still have to this day. I did the 30:day antibiotic treatment but still have symptoms. Knee pain, headaches and I am pretty sure it is messing with my nervous system, sometimes I wake up feeling shaky. Really funny “now the tick has HPV” lol 😝
