b8.5 s5 if you want the infinite speed upgradeability. b8.5 rs5 if you want that irreplaceable box flares, collectability - and of course that cabin concert v8. For me it's rs5 all day everyday. As you guys mentioned: this was made as a sporty daily tourer. It wasn't made to win drag races. Plus, can we all agree the b8.5 may be one of the greatest factory designs ever? From an aesthetics standpoint, this car is just about perfect and has aged like fine wine.
@draggy6544 Жыл бұрын
The 3.0 supercharged engine tops out at 500hp and 450ftlb of torque for the gained torque u sacrifice reliability and the exhaust sound is terrible at those power levels

Important to note this spec doesn't have the sports seats, which give the interior a better look. That being said, I absolutely love my 2014 RS5. Prior to it, I owned the B8 S5 2008, which was a 6 speed stick shift that I drove for over 5 years. I had to learn the OG 4.2 V8 in that car before upgrading to this raging bull 4.2. Safe to say that this car requires you to drive it enough to actually know how to drive it fast. Theres certain tricks I've noticed in terms of timing the suspension and gears when you're rolling in 30/40/50/60mph. I also think its quite literally the most beautiful coupe ever created. It has the right arches in the right places, the adaptive spoiler, the front headlights which are still modern looking, the aggressive grille. I haven't even gotten to that intoxicating sound, almost like a baby Lambo Gallardo. With the right adjustments to the stance and slight modifications this thing is perfect. Love mine.

It may not be the quickest Audi but with a diet and a little tuning it's pretty capable. 0-60 in 3.6-3.7 and 11.8-11.9 1/4 mile, then flip it to comfort mode and pick up the kids and plenty of room for a couple sets of clubs. it's a great GT car.
@andyp8464 Жыл бұрын
Needs 4 doors. I've had 3 cars with 2 doors and it annoys me to no end in winter getting kids in and out 😂 I must admit I've been close to going RS a few times but always end up in an AMG or an M. There's something about Rwd that i can't let go of
@NBASFAN Жыл бұрын
@@andyp8464 you need both a daily and a weekend car. This GT is definitely a weekend car. RWD is fine everywhere with sunny weather, but anybody that live in garbage weather knows the Quattro in the RS models in unrivaled there.

@NBASFAN ofcourse 100% my old c63s estate I stuck on winter tyres during the winter and it was still a handful on ice. My e63 s has literally no winter tyres for the rims I've got. I'd have to try a different tyre size , I'm not worried as the e63 though 630hp and 850nm torque Is far more powerful than the c class but at least the throttle set up is more tame . This is now my weekend car and I bought a convertible v8 BMW 6 series as my daily that can fit Michelin Cross climate 2 tyres so I'm happy I can make it through the winter in that car , awd is nice to have but winter tyres are more useful IMO

Awesome review of the car ! I currently own a 2015 S3 (original owner with 200,000 miles) and i am a DIY guy. The RS5 was on my short list to replace my current daily, however that big V8 engine must be removed to do much of the major services, ie water pump, starter, etc. Looking at the RS3 or perhaps the M2 (F87 body style). Hello Franklin, in my neck of the woods, a gentleman is selling his 2013 Audi RS5 4.2 V8 AWD with 156k miles for $17k. I'm very intrigued, I'm feeling skeptical because I hear about the timing chain issue and anything mechanical that could happen to render it non-drivable. What are some questions to ask to get a sense of what all has been fixed or done?
@franklinrAudi9 ай бұрын
@ostn8iv Make sure to ask if the water pump has been replaced, carbon clean service has been done and inspect the brake rotors as they are very expensive if they need to be replaced. Good luck with your purchase you are going to love it.
@joesisti4841 Жыл бұрын
I just bought one of these in October. Timing chains and guides arent a problem on these, they were revised in late 2012. Things that can go wrong are mechatronic unit (common among all dct audis of this time) injectors can fail around 70 to 80k miles, and rarely valve springs can snap. Catalytic converters can also get blow out which is fun since its also an engine out job.

More torque than this car because of the super charger and the sound was hands down better with the super charger whine in my opinion. And it was much less. For the price, it was a better deal to get the s5 and do that stuff to it to get a faster better handling and probably more reliable car. Bought it with 5k miles on it and tuned it right away.
