I really like the longer videos . I have always wondered why wake up the guy below who is sleeping for watch duty when the guy on watch is not tired, then the guy going off watch lays there watching the ceiling rock back and forth because he went down below when he wasn't tired, just for the sake of a schedule. Then all any one can do is talk about how tired they are and how they cant sleep on a passage. I think I like the way you do it Alex.

I like that you are tackling bigger, more complicated boat projects, and pushing yourself to do a massive ocean crossing. Courage and competence levels are growing exponentially. Thrilled to observe your progress from Day 1. All the component parts are there for a large increase in subs over the next year, as the peer mentoring and “cross contamination” happens as you interact with other sailing vloggers in the Carib with a larger sub-base.

You guys remind me of the way my wife and I travel Africa in our 1998 Landrover Defender, slowly. Pulling out of La Linea and being overtaken by all the other boats is pretty much how we roll on land when we leave a campsite, all the short term tourists come flying by in their modern rentals with us being only too happy to eat their dust as they are soon gone. There is so much otherworldly scenery to be enjoyed in places like Namibia. Should we one day take to the water I doubt anything will change in that regard.

As the song says.: You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself.! Make videos which interest you. I enjoy being educated about things that I might never use, but found it interesting seeing how the mechanics of the vain worked. Keep up the good work. PS. I've seen on another sailing channel that they put the date of the actual sail in subtitles at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds, even though it might have been a couple of weeks precvious to being uploaded. It's only a suggestion.!!

Hay don't sweat about your speed in the straights, we had the same problem and we are usually a fast boat. We also timed it perfectly and stuck to the north side, after some discussion with some locals we were told that there are all sorts of different tidal streams running at different speeds the trick is, if you are going slower than surrounding boats try to find a different stream, or watch the fishing boats (assuming they are not fishing) they seem to know the trick.

And guys, your videos, the story telling, the cuts and insets from other producers or own episodes, the whole stuff gets better and better from one sequence to the next. Wonder when you stop improving - you'll probably be ready for the golden statue, then :-) Keep it up (the mast and the spirits, I mean). Too bad we will not meet for a long time, probably never, as I just start with the new-to-me boat in the Med (Croatia), but I'll be keeping on stalking you via your KZbin posts.
