This was fascinating! I came here after watching Lazy Susan Fusion Chinese Burritos. Now I know why you spoke Chinese so beautifully in that video.

Thank you for this trigg. I'm currently a 22 in Guiyang and I found this very inspiring. It's funny how quickly desensitized you become to this opportunity. I'll be watching this more often to put everything in perspective.

First a delicious and unknown dip with such a peculiar name...and now I realize that you went to China for a volunteer time? Also I learned about Peace Corps- which I didn't know its existence.. I really admire you, with respect Lemonia.

The song is called "Michicant" by Bon Iver. Good luck with your Peace Corps application. Just be honest, and they'll find a place for you to serve. They've pretty much got the whole thing down after 50+ years.

Trigg, I am so impressed with your PC service. I served in Korea in 1969 through 1970. Later In 2002, while teaching in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu on my own, I visited Chengdu and stopped in to say hello at the PC office, just briefly. I had read and enjoyed Peter Hessler's River Town.Of all the "Peace Corps China" videos I searched, and found, yours was the best. Thanks for sharing it.

What is the song starting at 5:37? Also, thank you for this post! As senior college student wanting to join the Peace Corps in China this video has helped me have a greater understanding of the general benefits of joining the PC.

I have my PCV interview for China in a few days. If I'm invited to serve, I really hope I can develop secondary projects that are as engaging as yours. I think that's my biggest insecurity right now. Anyway, great video. I genuinely feel more eager to get involved after seeing it. Also, I appreciate the little hints of Bon Iver mixed into the video.
@TriggTube8 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your message. Best of luck with your interview. My greatest advice would be to start your secondary projects as soon as you can, so that you hit your stride with some time left to actually enjoy them. Two years goes by quickly, so put more on your plate than you feel comfortable with. You'll never wish you'd tried to do less with your time.
@DiCola1198 жыл бұрын
That's a good take on things. I won't ever regret doing too much over those two years, I'm sure. I only know I don't want to leave my serving feeling like I didn't do enough. I feel like I'll be digging up this video from time to time during my hopeful service to remind me of that.
