I have a male chahoua too. His name is Yamori and he will be 2 years old in July. Like Drogo he also hides when he is sleeping. I have a crestie and a gargoyle as well, but my chahoua is the one that is the most personable. As soon as he wakes up he stands in front of the door or he jumps on the glass to catch my attention, because he wants to sit on my chest

Recently got a baby chahoua, mine behaves very very similarly, though isn't as adverse to walking around while it's light. He/she doesn't even bother hiding to sleep, just right at the front of the tank, upside down, on the ground, pretty much just, I'm sleepy, I'll sleep right where I am. But is also fairly skittish when first picking up to handle, but calms down pretty quickly, until like yours, he/she decides its time for jumpy zooms.

Leopard Gecko not really we’ve seen both but it seems age plays a big factor the cheaper ones are little little babies like 20-30 grams or less.

I have a female chahoua named Kasiah she comes running to the front of her enclosure to be held and if I don't come for right away she watches me. And waits for me to come get her. And loves to be out just sitting on my shoulder or my bed. And really loves sitting in my hand and watching me take care of all the other reptiles and amphibians. She has such a fun personality! I Love her dearly!!!!

I just got my chewie a few weeks ago. He only seemed to take a day or two to get comfortable around me and not hide when I came around. He’s always watching me and actually approaches me when I’m maintaining his cage. By far my favorite lizard I’ve ever owned

My corn snake is a lot like Drogo, even down to hanging out by the front glass panels at night. Caught her many times squeezed up against the glass, or stretching to the ceiling. I've heard corn snakes are supposed to be very inquisitive but I never confirmed it, my lil girl is for sure though! If given the chance she'll escape from being handled, but once she's up she's all calm and going slow. I first heard about chahouas in one of your first videos of Drogo, when you first got him. I thought that if I ever decide to get a lizard or gecko, I'd like to get a chahoua. But, since corn snakes only share some of the needs that one of those reptiles would have, I think I'd rather get a leopard gecko as my first gecko, just to get used to the routine and taking care of them. Can't afford it and don't have the time right now, but sometime perhaps

I got TWO chahoua for £150!!! 2 juveniles. My first geckos. I’m usually a snake guy but I tell you these wee things are awesome. They have so much character. I love em to bits. The poor yanks are paying $600-1500 for chahoua and that’s just normal mainlands.pine islands and ones with unusual colours are even more than that. It’s usually the other way round. It’s usually the yanks getting stuff a lot cheaper than we do so it feels good to turn the tables on em for once.😂

He’s adorable! I received mine 2 days ago. 33 gram male PI. First night he ate Repashy mix. Gave crickets and 3 mealworms last night. He massacred the 3 crickets. Shook them like a cat does , flinging parts everywhere. So cool. I named him Bugsy now.

I’ve had a Leopard Gecko, named it Russell but I want to be able to get comfortable with it, I don’t know it’s gender because I got it when I was 8 I am 14 now but I would like to get it out of the cage and interact with it more, the past years I have tried but it gets very scared and also doesn’t eat a lot when I try to feed, basically what I’m asking is how to tell it’s gender and also better ways to get a better relationship with your Leopard gecko if anyone knows

Question!!! I'm a first time owner and I've had my gecko for a week now, been keeping paper towels as her bedding but I really want to give her something more natural. All I have is soft non-splintered mulch and regular soil from the store. They both have miracle grow in them and I can't find anything explaining if thats bad for them or not. If I am providing my gecko with a Arcadia shade dwellers uvb bulb during the day only, should I still supplement with D3 or can I dust insect feeders with calcium without D3? I know leachies are nocturnal but I’ve seen a lot of people use uvb with their geckos and the geckos use it. I was curious if I do that do I still need to supplement with D3 or is it too much.

Use supplements without d3 when using UVB. Just make sure your gecko is using the UVB from time to time

I dont know if youre still answering questions or if anyone else in the comments have some advice but i have an unrelated question. I have a male crested gecko about 1.5 years old. Right now hes in a 45x45x45cm exo terra but i was thinking of upgrading to a wooden viv, i have a 4 ft by 1.5 ft tank i wanted to put on its side and decorate it appropriately. Is this too tall? Should i not do this? I dont want him to fall 😰

That would be great for him! Just make sure you provide a ton of foliage and cover. Don’t worry about him falling. With a soil substrate he won’t get hurt.

I feel you can kind of tell when they're going to jump, but sometimes Drogo can whizz along your arm and jump.

Leopard Gecko the isopods are doing ok by the way. A tropical grey without antennae died but the others are doing great. I put the body in the coconut hide Tunnel of Love to feed the woodlice hiding in there.
