I used to have a really bad potty mouth when I was younger, but I knew when & where to use it & I always went out of my way to not speak like that around my elders or even people my own age that I didn't know. I didn't talk like that in front of my parents or my kids, either. Now days though, hardly anyone cares anymore. They use these words as if they're prepositions or something that _need to_ be used to complete every sentence. Maybe I'm just getting old but I don't get it.

Yeah I somewhat wish my daughters could take part in local theater, but the problem is the heads of the local theater learning/teaching are ridiculously over-the-top LGBT activists that think they should have the right to teach young children their nonsensical values. Your story goes to show how significant a person's childhood experience really is in the grand scheme of things and the advantages of good parenting. It sounds like your parents did a fantastic job. I would've loved to have people like that growing up. The alcoholic single mother who abandoned me at age 11 to an unemployed abusive father living in a condemned house didn't exactly do me many favors LOL

Assuming you are a good and well-adjusted and civilized person today, I would rather see your life story in a movie a million times over vs any perfect family who raised a perfect kid, story. The point is, I really admire people the come from very difficult circumstances and find a way out of it through hard work and determination rather than playing VICTIM that so many do and then make bad decisions their entire lives

But you're here, Gabe. You can be a testament that disadvantaged kids have value and can learn personal responsibility and not let their past or upbringing dictate their paths in life. I'm almost 50 years old and am finally embracing this, so I guess an old dog CAN learn new tricks! 😆
@gabeo9474
@gabeo9474 2 жыл бұрын
@@travisjazzbo3490 It's more of an ongoing struggle. Many people think that having bad experiences during childhood is not a very good excuse for struggling as an adult because it's in the past and therapy is available if necessary. What I've come to realize is that it's not certain traumatic experiences a person has or difficult situations they were in during childhood that bring challenges in adulthood; it's more about the experiences that they didn't have, and I don't mean neglect. A person who grows up in a normal two-parent middle class household where life is a boring routine of family dinners and scheduled outings for 18 years probably doesn't think much of their childhood. The thing is, they go into adulthood with 18 years of experiencing how a stable relationship works, bills being paid, consistently having food to eat, how to manage money, etc..., which essentially conditions that person to function very well in those same regards as an adult, and conditioning is not exactly the same as learning or knowing. If I sat down and took a test on how to be an adult, I'd probably score 100%, but the actual practice is entirely unfamiliar and contrary to my experience, which is what creates the biggest struggle for me. I did manage to get myself into college and graduated with honors while getting a degree in mechanical engineering, but because I didn't have any guidance or experience with regard to what happens next, I didn't know how to prepare for getting an engineering job and assumed that my ability alone would suffice. Well, it turns out that you need to have connections to people who have influence in order to have a good chance at a job like that, and I have zero. I haven't given up entirely, but I have applied for hundreds of jobs without any progress, and I'm now back in my familiar situation of financial instability and general disarray. Well, that's pretty much my life story LOL

@@gabeo9474 Exactly. I learned how not to be, but never learned how to be. Every time someone takes the wrong tone of voice, the urge to beat them like i did to kids growing up is difficult to restrain. Fortunately, I am a good father, never raised my voice or a hand to my daughter and she is well adjusted.

@@BB-1990 Yes! That message basically replayed constantly in my head when I was younger-"at least I'm learning what not to do." Unfortunately, there are innumerable ways to get it wrong and only a few ways to get it right in many cases, so learning one of the wrong ways doesn't really help at all.

I walked away from a very good acting career myself during Covid. Haven't looked back. I'm much happier and less stressed in my current career. To those not in the know, We still reap the benefits of our career via Residuals. For the rest of our lives, we will have random money coming into our accounts. I walked away due to a realization that I just didn't have another 10+ years in me for the grind. I never cared about adulation or validation in the business. I would cringe sometimes when I would post stuff to my social media if I was guest starring on a show, etc. It was just never conducive to who I am as a person. The stress of auditioning and having to drop things at a moments notice is real. I've been on location shooting one show, only to get cast in another show that was shooting the next day and have to deal with the stress and logistics to make that happen. Not fun.

It's always refreshing and relatable listening to Brett's commentary about pointing out the hypocrisy on how politics and mainstream media convolutes American viewers. The Golden Age of Hollywood ca. 1930-1945 will NEVER again be equalled. The best, most legendary stars emerged during this period: Bogart, Wayne, Cagney, Garland, Liz Taylor, Astaire, Kelly........modern Hollywood sucks!!

There were still weirdos back then in Hollywood Shirley Temple and Judy Garland said in interviews and Shirley Temple said in her autobiography that there was a lot of sexual abuse and pedophilia in Hollywood back then as well as there is now.

Definitely some red flags 1. Lost her virginity at 14 2. Left her husband 3. Left her kid with a baby sitter just to go fly to Romania to bang Andrew Tate (while her dad was sick in the hospital by the way) 4. Takes weird promiscuous selfies with her daughter I don’t think she’s trad or conservative at all. In my opinion she’s just taking advantage of her father’s career.

I went to a Dave Rubin Locals event in LA. The PragerU kids were there. What great kids. Respectful to adults, well spoken, and intelligent. There’s a future America. It’s in good hands. The purple haired people can’t carry on an argument after the slogans are over.

these two perfectly represent the conservative right demographic. And by that I mean not ugly, not fat, not irrational

It often bugged me just how attractive I found Brett, and I feel like a lot of that has now been explained. I agree, doesn't sound like luck, but a lucky break after a lot of hard work. (Really weird how people often don't think of acting as "real work" when... oh lawdy is it definitely work). That said, when this subject comes up, a lot of us are wondering if you ran into the Corey Feldman & Haim-type encounters.
